Right then. I'm after a stand / small tripod for my. Phone to do self takes. As I've been having some okay fish and need to do self takes. My main camera don't give me long enough on the timer . So looking for a stand of some kind for my phone. Anyone recommend one for me at a sensible price

Look on eBay plenty of camera tripod and phone mounts on their I use a Hama 75 star tripod compact comes it its own storage zip bag under £15 fully telescopic use it for both my camera and mobile phone and I use ulanzi phone mounts which also has a slot on the top so it allows you to slot a camera light on the top to give you extra lighting for the night time shots help the camera refocus the ulanzi phone mounts screw onto the tripod fine

Selfie fish on eBay. perfect for the job.
Only problem I have is the front facing camera flash on my iPhone 7 isn't good enough for night shots. Either get an external light or use the rear facing camera. Trouble then is you can't see yourself on the screen. Whistle app for the camera.

I saw some night shots taken with an iphone and they were really good.
What version of iphone did they start incorporating that feature.
As for a tripod I have a Yunteng VCT-1688 after an Old Geezer recommendation, I don't think they make them anymore, but something like that should do the job.

Get a bank stick, bank stick adapter and a rhino selfie adapter does a great job mate I even add a rhino light on top of it, takes brilliant pictures with it

The front camera on my 7 doesn't have a dedicated flash, it uses the screen to flash with. So when taking a picture of you and your fish, the light isn't bright enough, but you can see yourself in the screen. Turn the phone over and use the rear camera and it's dedicated flash, you get a better picture, but then you can't then see if you've framed yourself correctly. Might be different on newer phones.

A mate of mine uses a bankstick and small buzzer bar with 2 little butt grips at right angles to the bar, works perfectly with his whistle app

I use a bank stick adapter from Gardner and a phone clamp either using voice command or a wireless shutter.

Use a saber phone tripod myself. Find it really good and stable to use. 
I have a camera adaptor glued into the end of the seat frame on my day chair.
Just screw on phone holder ( eBay 2 quid) and put phone in holder and use whistle cam app.
Very easy, stable and no need for a tripod.

I struggled with the cheap eBay adaptors but got this off there but second hand so no idea what it's called but has locking mech so not as easily damaged

You sit behind expensive rods reels alarms waiting for days sometimes so a jag self stick is pennies really for a good picture. 👍🏾

What phone do you have? Never iPhones have voice control that works a lot better than whistle app, which doesn't work when it's windy. Say ‘hey Siri, turn on voice control' and you'll know if you have it. If not, ‘Hey Camera' is a better app than whistle app and is voice controlled.

One off the Trent at the weekend. It's not perfect and if I was critical I'd have the light higher up to avoid shadows, but it's more than good enough for me.

If you are using an iPhone look at the photo timer + app it's a free app works great you set it up like a camera intervalometer set the countdown timer ,set a delay inbetween shots and will just keep taking shots shoots just hit the shot button on the phone and away you go

I bought myself a tripod for my camera for my carp fishing and found it has a phone holder too I also go a mini tripod off wish a while back and phone holder will fit that too so I car a big tripod and a small one if needed

I always used to use a knock off gorilla pod for self takes with my phone. The flexible legs meant you can wrap it round a bankstick with little effort.

Something like this can be attached to chairs or barrows. Quite versatile.
