i had several receivers go on me so I'm thinking of the gardner tlb plus just for that reason.. i might do a 50/50 and get 2 tlb plus' and 2 atts just to compare ...

Can get the new Fox Mini Micron X on Fishdeal 3+1 for £190, bit of a bargain compared to other sites.
If you dont mind 2nd hand you could probably get a set of Nevs or ECU's for that money.

Shame i haven't got my thumbs up yet, Got Fox Mini Micron X 4+1rod presentation set for sale used once, £200 alarms were so good i upgraded to 4 RX+'s instead.

These days you really really dont need to spend silly money on Alarms

Gerry, How long have you had the prologic BAT alarms and how many times have you used them.
I have to wonder as it wasn't so long ago you were saying the jrc radar alarms were the very best bargain and swore by them.

You used them once and they were so good you replaced them
I'd say att, tlb or delkim. Not because they're any more durable (though they actually are) but all are serviceable products.
Nevs will beep for ever, but having snapped one off a bank stick and never owned any that haven't cracked from being looked at the wrong way I couldn't call them durable

ive decided on a halfway house scenario. I'm opting for two tlb + that pair to a deluxe receiver.. and keeping back 2 green atts iw... that way i have 4 alarms that will all pair to a receiver, two atts that are 2 magnet for river fishing and canal.. and then the tlb's cover my lake fishing and have the sounder on the alarm.. so i cover off reliability and sensitivity..im sold on atts but dont like the single point of failure for sound on all 3 rods. most likely i will fish two tlb+ with receiver majority of time and then a third atts rod where applicable

engineers hate bottle necks and singlr point of failure all three rods on atts gear , receiver goes its home time.. unless your taking spare receiver of course.

I've got the original tlb's (no receiver) and I love them. Bought them second hand and they seem almost indestructible. They don't have any ‘features' but ‘features' are overrated. Imo of course.

100% only thing not selling me totally is they operate like a 4 magnet roller sensitivity wise. i prefer 2 magnet as i fish weedy and canal lakes with undertow so in them scenarios i will fish the ATTSiw 2mags

Hi I not used them more than twice myself due to health issues
but 2 mates one that is retired and lives in France and fishes all the time bought a set as backup to his original early delks that he was having issues with
he found they were so good uses them all the time on his second season and his mate he fishes with uses them now too
the other mate that fishes the Rivers all the time and he has switched from his ATT an has had most of the top alarms over the past 40 odd years too yes I do rate the Radar CX alarms but these are equally as good
in fact the Bat3 plus do have the edge !!
and at a silly cheap price why waste money on alarms that wont do a better job ?

its fair to say alarms are a real kettle of fish of opiniona for sure.. i swore by ATTS until alarm failure and it became clearly apparent there was an issue with if receiver goes no fishing, then i bought a back up receiver and had 2 at all times.. fast forward a year later and maybe 20 to 30 nights use the main receiver went so i was on the back up again ( never been used only stored away ), thats when i sort of backed off being an ATTS fan boy.. love gardner gear but gonna give the sounding head tlb with receiver a run out

Tlb are fine on any water with a flow, just set the indicator up with enough weight/tension to combat the flow.

A friend was going to buy a cheap set but decided not to as if a head goes wrong you can't buy one replacement you have to buy the whole set don't know if this is the case with the alarms mentioned

I " upgraded" from fox mmxrs to rx+ to be perfectly honest for what I use them for I didn't need to. The mmxrs did everything I needed. The rx+ are great alarms. Most of their features are not needed but. I have them if I really need to use them. I still have the mmxrs which remain in perfect working order.
