I decided I need a comfy chair that I can doze off in been thinking about the Solar SP C-Tech Reclining Fishing Chair High version for ages I dont think there is any other chair that compares ??
I like a high back chair that stops a cold wind from behind and a high chair thats easy to get in and out of and the fact it reclines is great
I just need to wait until this coming bank holiday where Im sure there will be some discount codes about

Had the Sonik SK-TEK Recliner for about a year now. Pretty comfy and reclines to near horizontal. £79 at Angling Direct.
Fallen asleep in mine many a time!

Got the low version which is not that low . This is by far the most comfy chair I've owned and very well built 👌

I have the low one very very comfortable but heavy ok on barra wouldn't want to walk far with it

Those were my thoughts when looking at the long legg version, I believe the Trakker recliner is quite a bit lighter but similar size. You can buy the Solar bolster pillow separately too if you want to stick it on the Trakker version.

As far as im aware the low version and the high version both have the same sized back. The only difference is the length of the legs. I have the low version and its easily the best chair ive owned in all the years of fishing.

The trakker is more than likely made from cheaper inferior components which is why its lighter than the solar chair.

Happy to be wrong normally it's the other way round the heavier it is the cheaper the materials it's like cycles the cheaper frames are very heavy the more you pay the lighter they are so I think that applys to chairs

I dont think the Trakker is much of a price difference ? I can get the Solar for tackle tavern £154.99 and the Trakker is only a fiver or so difference ?
AND as I have said I want the HIGH version and I dont think its as High ? also I use to own the standard Trakker longback chair it was comfortable but I sold it and they definitely do not last very long lots of people have had problems with the stitching and frames snapping but not heard of any problems with the Solar
I genuinely believe the Solar is a far better chair and NO I DONT want the low version
I dont give a monkeys if you love your low version

I am short and have the high version, it's absolutely fine. I sat on every conceivable chair known to man and there's no doubt that the Solar was more comfortable than the rest, which was much to my annoyance as I was looking for something cheaper. Next best IMO was the Advanta (Angling Direct) one.
You won't be disappointed with the high Solar chair.

Of course its not, you cant be that deluded surely?! its trakker, its made from inferior materials with a stupidly high mark up so the complete opposite of what you think. Ive owned two trakker chairs and the frame snapped on one and the stitching went on the other one with months of buying it. Not had a single issue with the solar chair and had it well over a year.

You cant compare bike frames to fishing chairs. A full carbon bike frame is 1000's where a steel framed bike could be £100. Fishing chairs are more or less the same but some are definitely better than others ie, stitching, hinges, leg adjustment and the position and quality of the welds on the frame. If you take a proper look at the solar chair the frame is double tube not single tube like the trakker chairs which is one of the reason they weigh more and are much more durable.

I was just thinking of an example probably not a good one wasn't thinking carbon was thinking steel vs aluminium frames anyway as I said the solar is the best out there omho

I've got the high version Gerry, only tried it at home so far but it feels absolutely perfect for dozing in with your feet up on a bucket I'll be using mine for single overnighters on the Trent instead of a bed so wanted something quality and comfortable!

I have this. My friend has the Fox R Series (I think it is) cost him £240. It is the most unbelievably comfy chair I've sat in. Its £100 more than the Solar but man... it's a dream to sit in. And it folds up on the bedchair unlike the Solar chair.

Well DHL have my Solar chair so its on its way and I will let you know what I think when I have tried it
I have sat in a Nash Moonchair and I did not like it at all
not at all as comfortable to me as I expected
my current chair is super comfy an old JRC the one with elastic all the way round but due to health issues I wanted a chair with arms to assist in getting out of it

only one criticism I have of the solar chair and its not a big issue but if you pull the fabric off the end of the frame (the bit you sit on) it's a bitch to get back on....the area the frame sits in could do with being a touch longer or fixed to the frame.
apart from that it's a comfy chair and 10 tines better than the trakker that snapped on the frame

well its arrived
I have mixed feelings at the moment bit disappointed with the height of the back I was expecting my head NOT !! to be above it when sat in the upright position
and it feels heavier than I thought it was going to be
but good point and one of the most important for me is with the height and the arms I can get in and out of it much easier than any of my previous chairs

My highback arrived earlier (well, it's for the wife). She likes it as no more struggling getting up due to bad back.

I've got a new chair on my wish list and been looking at this chair, the weight and whether the back supports my head are pretty big concerns of mine - so sounds like I should be looking elsewhere despite the rave reviews. Thinking of getting the Fox Duralite XL chair. Only downside to it is it's not a recliner (which I would like, as do enjoy an afternoon snooze on the bank).

I had similar requirements to you and ended up with the Aqua Transformer chair and first impressions are very good. It doesn't recline in the traditional sense but almost turns into a mini bed. No doubting the quality of the Solar hut one for you to consider

Didn't come across those reports when I was looking into it so bloody well hope that doesn't happen as not cheap. Feels solid and well made, but time will tell. Bought it for a week in France in August with the family so will give it a good workout then

The back legs are different, in that the Aqua have adjustable back legs whereas the Trakker has a bar. Guess the rest of the spec is very similar as I didn't realize that they were basically the same company until my chair turned up in a Trakker products box with the Aqua stickers and info
