I'm looking for a lightweight summer jacket. If it's showerproof then that would be a bonus. Any suggestions please?

If your looking for something ultra compact rolls up to the size of a pair of socks and light. Cant go wrong with a Peter Storm Cagoule. Would say it's more shower proof than rain. But ideal to leave in your bag for them out of nowhere summer showers.

I got a Highlander DPM, unlined copy of a army jacket,it's great as it is breathable,as some of those lightweight hiking jackets might keep showers off,but if its warm and your moving about,you might sweat up ..
Mine rolls up if needed into the smallest snugpak dry bag and clips on my rucksack strap or the porterlite tension straps..
(Had mine on all this morning so far,they don't rustle too much either if you use it for shooting as well)

Its not waterproof but as a summer jacket with lots of pockets and doesnt look out of place on the bank I have this, cannot fault it at that price.

Rolling the sleeves up means you can handle carp without getting your cuffs wet. It also looks cool.
They don't come in camo but I've a lovely pastel green that is just as good.

As Wandle said, these are spot on Highlander DPM. Only thing is I think I had to go a size up as they are quite small for size.

Get a Pentagon softshell jacket - windproof, definitely waterproof (as opposed to just showerproof) and warm enough, but not too warm. Ideal for early mornings, windy days, etc. No carp tax. Military 1st sell them.

All you people trying to circumvent the carp tax should be ashamed , you should know non carp tackle clothing affects your catch rate.......
Another 👍for military surplus gortex dpm , paid about £25 for mine and it's saved me a soaking few times

They are good...
In fact ,I think they are even better than army DPM,and i've had a few of those including MTP..edit,especially in an angling situation
