Anyone in the know of any brands about to release new brollies this spring, i'm in the market for a new one but if anyone has new models in the pipeline then id rather wait !

It's not new this year but if it's a brolly you are after I recommend you seriously take a look at the Solar Undercover. Top quality brolly and not rip your pants down prices either as a bonus

I wish jrc would make the old defender brolly again - to the original spec. Mine lasted years!

I'm sat under mine at the moment with no infill on. To be honest I have yet to use it with the infill which hasn't even been out of the bag yet. Even with it being included it's still c.£100 less than the Aqua and a few quid cheaper than the basic tempest which I sold for this and very happy I did

I would still prefer it without the infill. Less weight and a smaller bag.

i think its a shame that nash killed the scope recon brolly.
i have a hide which is great i think for the summer and being able to use 1 shelter for days and short night trips it would be better as i think its light and packs down better.
likely it didnt sell very well - the hide takes it place

Rather keep it in its bag as will probably get damaged in the boot with everything else. Im sure they did used to do just the brolly but cant find one anywhere.

I have a tempest v2 brolly and a Wychwood tactical brolly, can't see me using the tempest much to be honest

How are you getting on with the Tactical Brolly? I was going to get one, but whenever I see them on the bank, the spoke retainer seems to have rusted badly. Made me wonder about the quality of the rest of it.

Mine rusted away and went bang rendering it useless after less than a years use

It's ridiculous in this day and age they can't make a brolly that doesn't leak for god sake it's only an umbrella don't know how they would get on with something complicated people still having issues with leaking there going backwards
I've had cheap £25 brollys got one now never leaked had the wavelock in the 80s no problem at all
They must be using the cheapest factory in china that they can find

It's the same as any product nowadays mate, fishing or not. Chinese production is done as quickly as possible at the cheapest cost. Quality goes out if the window as it eats into profit. I remember my first microwave lasting about 15 years, but now you're lucky to get a year out of one!

Heard that story a few times with them. Such a shame that a good design is wasted when it goes into production. What's wrong with these companies?!

Been really grateful twice this season to have the front panel for the Solar undercover in the car, as the wind has turned and blasted heavy rain straight in. Of course you can pull the pegs and turn it, but then you can't see your rods!
