What does everyone use for that solid grip on the rear rod butt. I've been looking at the Solar Centre Loc as I like the fact that you can adjust according to the width of the rod but not sure of whether I need the Mini or the Standard size.
I also quite like the Matrix Innovations one's where you have to press a button just below to release the rod.
Which ones do you guys prefer and why.

ESP. cheap as chips and well up to the job. They do 3 sizes depending on your rod type.

Solar for me, the mini ones adjust farely wide, I've used them with Cork, duplon and abreiviated butt's.

I use the Jag Lock downs which I have 100% confidence in. A chord wraps round your handle and is released with a button underneath your rod. The Solar P1 adjustable grips I also like but if I was fishing a locked up situation I'd need them really tight which would mean lifting my pod up with them, that's why the Jag's are good.

The lockdowns are the rests mate,the rod locker is the cord part.I use the rod lockers with the solar p1 butt rests and they are solid.I changed from the jag lockdowns,I got sick of wrestling with the rubbers inserts for different size rods,with the p1 I have them set at a width where they will take my different set ups but with the jag rod lockers fitted my rods are not going anywhere

I know what you mean about the rubbers, a bit of a PIA in you have different sized handles, they fit both sets of rods I normally use, but not my cork. Best out there IMO.

What size P1 Butt rests would I need for my rods Bradders? The rods i'm ordering will have Full Japanese shrink tube the length of the handle with a tapered handle at the end. Will the Mini's be big enough or should I look at ordering the standard.

I have got the mini's,I use them with my 10ft torrix and 12ft 6 aviators,both sets of rods are full wrap and they are fine.The p1 go quite wide,I prefer the more compact look of them

Fox rubber butt grips - really good. I use the large on duplon or cork, the medium on abbreviated handles. Cheap, look good and grip the rod really well for most situations.

Jag rod lockers are the best and most secure available today, be careful with them in hot weather though, if tight , they wreck your rods.........

When warm/hot weather the high build or whatever it is is softer and they bite into it. I wish I could post photos but haven't got a clue. Happy to email or whattsapp a pic to someone to post up.

Could it be that people are just putting the cord on too tight. It you have decent butt grips, then surely the rod lockers don't need to be overly tight, just comfortably snug.

It could be,I like having mine facing forward.I find it easy to pick the rod up and press the rod locker in one go with them facing this way

Same as Braders, I wrap mine over the the threaded section of the seat, but I agree even in colder weather if you wrap the chords over the shrinkwrap it will still mark it.

Yes the SS Singlez stage stands, 6 of them which is a bit painful on the pocket, but not too bad after selling a few other bits and bats at the time 👍

It's a very snug fit with the singlez sticks, and the singlez sticks are also engineered with a threaded spigot on the end, so I'm doubtful they would slot on to other sticks particularly if they have pointed ends etc.

So bloody tempting to go this route.i suppose 2 long super slinky sticks on just the buzz bars would be suitable for when I want to fish the rods in the water along reeds etc.

I've used the ESP ones for years and always fond them to be excellent.
I moved from the solar ones as fancied a change and defo don't regret it.
I've just bought the newer version in medium and same awesome product.

Jag lockdowns for me nothing I've tried has come close to it
I use the mini solar back rests either push the sides in or out depending on the blank I'm using in conjunction with the jag rod lockers
