Hi guys, looking for some advice on buying some 2.75 tc rods, need to have a nice playing action and have 40mm ringing, got around £250 to spend on a pair, is there anything out there you would recommend or look at second hand ? They are just to use over winter on some smaller lakes I'm fishing.

Tacklebox CFX.
Been using 2.75's all autumn, lovely rods with a pretty decent action. 3 cost me a little over £400 so close to your budget and include lifetime warranty.

I've had a set of infinity x in 3.5 and the IAMT in 3.25, absolutely loved them, been looking for some 2.75 infinities for ages but none coming up.

Probably the best 2.75 rods you can get are the free spirit es and you should be able to pick a pair of them up for £250 second hand.
if you could find some Century NG`s 2.75lb would tick all your boxes Awesome rods

Free spirit ES a will fit the bill perfectly by far my favourite Rod to use for anything up to 80 yards

They have stood the test of time the es Rob, wish i had kept mine. Ive got some 2.5 century stealth graphenes now which i absolutely love but still unsure on the alps reel seats. 2.5 tc has to be my favourite tc of them all, proper fishing rods mate.

I heard the ES Blank is now different to than it used to be.
I had a go of one (recent stock) and it is extremely stiff for a 2.75lb rod, more like closer to 3.
It is very through actioned though and I love it!
Very slim, light, but not as light as the CTX Blank. (What is?)
Mind you, that Blank (CTX) has an overtstated TC than it actually is, even though it's true Fast Taper.
FreeSpirit are all over the place. Too many Rods maybe.

Was it though? I think I paid around £100 for some Nash rods around that time and I would have thought Harrison builds would have been a fair bit more.

Funnily enough there is a slightly rough pair with duplon grips on EBay at the minute. Be interested to see how they go. There is also some absolute rotters for sale from Germany with NHS walking stick feet as end caps!

I sold a MINT pair of 2.75 ballistas a couple of years back for £100. Instantly regretted it.

Definitely have a look at the tackle box cfx range I've had the 2 3/4 and the action was superb now own the 3 1/4 su and they're mustard aswell also the offer them custom 👌

I'm pretty sure it was. I'd asked a fishing/shooting shop if they'd sell a shotgun for me. When I told them I was after a set of Ballista's they offered to do a straight swap. I'd paid £390 for the gun a couple of years before, and it's value hadn't really changed much.

I got 3 mk 1 armalites brand new from chorley anglers built by Dave lumb in 1991 for £360. Still got them.
