Anyone see an old Whycliffe re run recently,brought back a memory that did..I was fishing the lake and backwaters,where the filming was done,and remember the wildwest Park being used as location right next to the lake...gun shots and cowboys everywhere..

But then I had Bill Thursdon Bi techs..,..state of the art back then..

It's now known as Retallack Spa...urrghhh.!

Wish I still had my Bi Tec's I had clear case ones moons before ATT thought about this type of casing they were limited to so many sets.

90's setup Harrison Ballista's 2.5lb tc, Vipers and Gardner pod with built in tightening threads on the buzz bars for the alarms/butt rests, never been one for keeping hold of things wish I did.

I'm good mates with Bill's son who's not an angler and he was telling me about the alarms etc his dad used to make and how the house used to be full of all sort of alarms, prototypes etc after he stopped making them (due to Delkim I believe) and that years later they just threw everything in the skip 😳. I'd imagine they would be worth a small fortune these days for the old skool cult carpers

I had three sets in the end,the last set I had were excellent,I had alloy custom ball n sockets,which I used to polish up with auto sol,three separate head colours,extra long leads,and of course the supa dupa,mega reliable ,bi tech sounder box..

If you ever saw me back in the day it'd be like ,no mate fishing quiet,then,mind my leads bud...nothing worse than walking through someone's alarm leads...

Bill Thursdon ,again another person who was good to me and deserves recognition,always sorted out any niggles I had with the alarms,which was not often..

One day I was up in Devon ,on the lake I got shot at,over..and that mizzle did for my bi techs,and Bill had stopped doing them,

Carpstar,my mate had the bitech micros,we was well jealous, as they were indeed clear or came in black..Nice set up,I still use a lot of 90s gear,and my son is a full on retro head,armalites,gold emblems,swingers etc

Saddens me ,what happend to Bazelys ,Rettallack really,but his grandson runs,owns spooky pool..all I remember is the sound of the cuckoo...at night !

Edit,also I had Terry Eustace,square section three rod buzz bars,no interenet not much in the way of delivery, maybe two or three weeks to turn up,so I drove upcountry for a kilio of tutti and those buzzer bars from TEs shop...long way..!

Went in Clissets as well..

Double edit,I was on WR,met Tony Chipman and Nigel Britton,on the long chuck,both saying like your set up mate..Good Times,and that's where my infatuation with Trangias started,due to Nigel,Adam,D,and Ken of course..

Longtime ago I couldn't remember the exact model I remember the sounder box was all black must of had viper on as I doubt they made anything different for them to run off, ah the leads how many times did I trip over mine. .
I thought I was the kiddie with these alarms the lake this picture was taken on was down Cornwall way around 95'ish from memory we had a family holiday with an old cottage for accommodation with three or five lakes stepping down in a valley, had the Mother and father in law with me the wife and the kids.
My oldest son, he sat there all day with his dipping net on the camouflage bucket.

Absolute pony it was and always fell over lol

Cept I had a pair of very nice x carp 311,or 211 can't remember exactly on my pod,and it did indeed blow over really easily,I custom sprayed it,buffed it up,polished the alloy legs,and where the hole for the monkey climber was I had a brass plate made over,with the legend.. The pod.

Coupled with my condensation master slippery eel mk one Titan straight bar,black version arms,unlike Julian which was straight bar, alloy version,I was the man...(not really)

Anyway people have to remember,there were all these lakes,a coupla of others fishing,Cornwall a quiet place...bliss,literally on my side virtually had loads of quiet unfished lakes..

Quite possibly Adam it was a nice little set of lakes, from memory there was one above the cottage and three or four below it getting bigger as they stepped down the valley was a lovely week, the misses and kids traveled with her mum and dad and I took the kitchen sink in my motor, I fished most evenings and did the family things in the daytime can remember having the best tasting pasty of my life and to this day I can still taste it when I think about it.

Wildie,feral pool,fishing churner style ,using Mitchell 300 reels ,monkey climbers,and Tuttis picked up after driving hundreds of miles..Behind the island is where I first discovered otter predation,which then went on to destroy many a special place,Wearing the cult Mainstream Avimore once piece ,heavy,cumbersome,and cold lol..things have moved on..

I had one of those Pods , Gardner " Black Shadow" , and the Buzz Bars were called "Tru-Lock" off memory

The handle lengths on the majority of 70s and 80s carp rods were really way too long .
