I have an old bedchair cover made by trakker. It has a Union Jack on the label.
Did trakker used to make their stuff in the uk? I cant remember ?

Still have one of there original rucksacks. The most comfortable rucksack I have ever owned, albeit it is starting to look a little tired now..

Think the early Trakker stuff got produced in a small facility in Stapeley Water Gardens where Aqua was made, I have one of the original Armo Rucksacks bought directly from there. Build quality is the same as the Aqua version just different label.

Yep, was on the Parkway Industrial Estate in Sheffield (I used to deliver the Mail now and again). Cygnet tackle is there now, not sure if it's the same unit as I'm not a postie any more.

I thought the early aqua stuff was made in crewe then it moved to nearer stapely at that time while they were still separate from trakker. Its funny you mention the armo rucksacks i had one of both an aqua one and trakker the aqua one is still going the trakker one fell apart even though they looked very similar apart from the label.

I know the trakker stuff was originally made in sheffield but i suspect has been imported for many years now. when aqua stopped making things at stapely they briefly relocated to trakkers factory in sheffield i had to pop in to swap a bivvy around 15 years ago (maybe longer) i did see some aqua stuff still being made there but plenty of trakker boxes being shipped in from elsewhere and appeared to be a distribution hub.

This was before aqua located to chorley

i have an original MK1 Trakker Armo 2man (yellow writing) in heavy nylon breathable material ... pretty sure that was UK

I have an original Trakker pioneer. That has a union jack on it above the door somewhere. And on the groundsheet.

Julie lives in Crewe (one of original seamstresses)Aqua used to use the backroom at the old Stapeley I think.That is when their quality control was crazily strict.I have asked Julie numerous times to make me a bivvy but she can't as she still does the repairs for trakker/aqua

I'm pretty sure that I remember reading that the place in Sheffield was where they checked the quality of the Chinese made stuff? Each and every bivvy was set up and checked for faults using a strong light.
Aqua were still putting the Union Jack on their stuff after manufacturing had moved to China, that's 100%.

I think the name of the company that owns Trakker, Aqua and Cygnet is Cipher Group Ltd that are based in Sheffield. they have recently bought a french company called Frenzee aswell.

Is Trakker equally as good in quality as Aqua these days or are they seen as the next step down in quality in comparison. I think Cygnet are seen as a more affordable option for some people but not sure how true that is as only starting to get back into carp fishing after 12 years away from the hobby.

I don't think that Aqua are considered a special quality brand anymore by most people. Basically on par with Trakker, just at inflated prices.
