Has anyone used one and is it worth getting?
Does it go much further than the large or standard midi?

Not used these. But the wolf spider spods are better than the spams in my opinion when it comes to actually opening up. May be worth a look

I have one. They're ok but not as good as the spomb for distance imo.
Edit: Also have the Dot, Impact, Airbomb etc etc. All have stronger/weaker points for different applications/baits. This thread is asking for info on the Midi X

I think they are stuck on a slow boat from China (everyone seems to be 'pre order'), the float appears to be integral on this size spomb?

I have used one, didn't find it achieved more distance than my go to medium spomb... And found it wobbled a bit more in the first part of flight... Was better with pellets and boilies than the medium.. But not with a wet mix.... They do float though which is ok if you crack off 😂
Personally I'm sticking to the medium, found it better than the wolf and dot, maybe I'm just stuck in my ways...

I find a few of the various options are better/worse for different applications e.g. the Dot is great for heavy baits but useless for light stuff.
I also prefer the bog standard Spomb as an all-rounder.

I use the mid spomb for extreme range and the wolf x spod for everything shorter that that.
I put gooey spod majority of the time i find the x spod the best method to deliver, its easy to fill never opens mid air, always open upon impact and comes back with ease. But when it comes to 120+ meters i always use a mid spomb yet it opens mid air sometimes and in every 15 casts one wont open upon impact but it flies like crazy.

Sorry m8, i actually have cracked off a standard spomb lqst session. I need to get a new one so looks like im gonna try it out regardless. Is it better then the old one in any way?

I used it on my last trip . I was using the medium and and hitting the distance comfortably but it was taking to long to put the bait out . When I swapped over to the midi X I was still able to hit the mark . I couldn't hit the spots with the large .
From what I gather it will perform exactly as you would expect distance wise , somewhere between midi and large

Are you all using a shockleader for the larger sized spods? Only used the smallest size straight through to 30lb braid but would imagine you might need a shockleader for a fully loaded big one.

When it comes to long range spoding i quite like the size more than the old spomb i feel like it flies really similar to the old one, it has a bit more wobble mid air as well . Tho in those 3 days 3 times it didnt open upon impact so no change there. Other than that its good.
When it comes to shockleaders i always use some thick braid never breaks or anything of sorts. So yes.

I use 50lb braid straight through for my spombing, about 25 wraps for large spombs and 30 wrapd for the midi, I havent had any issues though when I used 20lb braid to 45lb braided leader I had no end of issues/Frap ups!!

This could be the lighter braid trying to overtake the heavier shockleader braid as it comes off the spool. I changed shockleader material to combat this and it has worked so far
