I started up carping again in December after a bit of a break and came across British Aqua Feeds. Just wondering what their bulk liquids are like and if they're worth the price.

Good to know. 👍

I've been looking at the hydro nut and the liquid liver. Prices look good too.

Cheers

Good to know, thanks.

Although I don't mind the smell on my hands when I'm fishing.

I've used odyssey xxx a lot in the past and that really stinks, it makes me wretch every time I open the chest freezer. But, when I'm on bank fishing the smell doesn't bother me at all.

Definitely like the sound of that liver hydrolosate now. When it's as bad as you say then should be a real winner 👍

Be warned though, don't be tempted to just unscrew the lid and take a big sniff......you'll loose your breakfast! I wrote a review of it on their website that you may like to read.

Most hyrdos are thick from BAF I got the squid one after their site saying it is better than the rest and it is so watery it is worse than a sticky pot....

Smells great though anyone know why that is? Is it watered down as it's so hard to get and they r trying to cash in or is it another reason ?

Interested to hear how you know they have watered it down? Have you got another squid hydro that you are comparing it with?

My experience of hydros is that some are thicker than others... I've had the squid hydro from BAF and really rate it. It is thinner than their fish hydro but I'm not sure why that is an issue.

It's probably as supplied. Had the shore crab extract from Bacarel, same as, like water compared to other hydro's

I think most anglers see them as a highly reputable company, why would they do that, have you gave them a ring?

Just read your review on BAF and it's spot on. I do the same when preparing my bait. But, as I've never bought from BAF before, just wanted to check if they're any good...and going by the replies they obviously are!
Cheers 👍

I haven't used squid hydrolosate from BAF yet, but every squid hydrolosate I have used from other companies, Nash, Hinders, etc has always been thin. It then thickens up over time.

The Nash one was matched with a bait called Bling, which they didn't sell for very long. I was gutted when they discontinued it

Request an up to date technical sheet and compare it with the one on their website which is from 2018.

Bling

Remember that, around the same times as the FF (formula fish), one of my mates used it, like you say they didn't stay around for long, not sure why?

Yeah Bling was a cracking bait. Apparently it was Nash's first bait with pre-digested fishmeal. I don't know how true that is mind.

I remember formula fish, yeah. They did formula duck as well. Sorry I mean formula 1. No I mean formula duck lol

The crab is not a hydro, it's an extract. Hence it is a lot thinner.

I believe hydros are initially thin as a certain amount of water is needed for the hydrolysis.
Then water is removed by evaporation to make it more stable.

Yep. To hydrolyse is to breakdown an extract, or compound with water. 👍

Ok so I'm not saying its an issue just asking if it could be fine at so thin compared to the fish or other hyrdos they do. The label has water as a content in it but as stated all hydros do as part of the process.

Will not worry as its catching the fish anyhow and that's what matters
