Hi, I usually use bank sticks, but the lake I want to fish has very hard ground, so am looking for a reasonably priced rod pod, no more than £100ish, any ideas/suggestions? Thanks🎣

I use the sonik Vader x 2 rod pod when I need to use a pod and very happy with it for the price point can get the 3 rod version under £70

Saying that I'm currently tarting it with a Solar A1 GT . . .has the small 6" legs and I've added a small bungee to the rear screw so I can peg it down - actually quite like it, lightweight and low profile . . .buzz bars are close but not silly close and the splay on the front is perfect . . .

Take a look at Chris Brown Products and his rod pod. Top draw piece of kit that'll last you a lifetime and won't fall apart. The only thing is it's £28.50 more than you want to spend. I've got a fancy/mega expensive JAG pod with all the trimmings, the Chris Brown one blows the JAG out of the water.

The Sonik is pretty decent for a budget priced pod.
And can also be used as a standalone Goalpost Bank stick set up too.

I have the New direction p7 I am very happy with it, you do not have to buy the full set at once on Amazon, you will find all parts separately, you can start with the banksticks, 1 or 2 central bars and 2 horizontal bars

Also their after service is very good
There was a factory fault on one of the horizon bar the bankstick hole was wrong so the screw does not secure the bankstick.
After contacting ND on Fb I received a mail later that day that a new horizon bar was on the way, 2 days later the Horizon bar was delivered

I've never seen the New Direction gear in the flesh and not spoken to anyone who owns one. Any one on here that has any of their pods to give an honest review?

I have 4 carbon banksticks, been really good apart from the glue that holds the pole cap on came loose, I've used epoxy to put it back on and no further issues.

Their magnetic banksticks are a waste of time, they need a lot of vertical force to pull off and not alot of horizontal, ok if you're fishing open water I guess.

Photo of mine, i like low ground pod setup, I use it as a 2 rod setup with 2 Prologic avenger banksticks in the middle, the intention is to set it up with a Smart alarm and Smart light in the middle that I will buy soon.

Delivered 12 May 2021, used 3 x so far, very easy to set up Rod pod with many possibilities, do not expect Century carbon quality, but the Century is also £210 more expensive.

It will be interesting to see how long it lasts, I bought a couple of the banksticks and they fell apart after a few uses

I've had their carbon sticks for close to a year now and they've had some hammer. One broke but I re glued it and it's back working. So I'd say they're worth the £11ish I paid

At Least the quality is better than fox black widow and in the end we are talking about banksticks of £10 each

I've looked at a few of the pods mentioned, the new ND pod is interesting, I like the way all the different angles it can be adjusted to, ND YouTube videos are enlightening. Has anybody used one? £79

The Sonik Vader X looks very stable and was suggested the most and at only £54 for a 3 rod seems a bargain.

The Jrc compact contact is only adjustable in height, £69.
The Jrc Cocoon looks much better, adjustable legs, height and length, £100ish.

I'm surprised no Nash pods were put forward, or is there a reason? They look sturdy enough and under £60 for a 3 rod, another bargain.

Any other suggestions welcome, thanks.

I have the cygnet compact pod, it only ever sees the light of day on one lake I fish so hasn't had much use, however it's sturdy and doesn't weigh a ton. Worth a look but probably a bit pricier for the kit than other suggestions

I have been using a JRC Square pod for a couple of years now and find it more than adequate. Adjustable in height and length. Perfect. It will take 16mm(?) banksticks if you want to vary the height even more - I use a pair of longer Nash sticks which increases the options (like really getting a steep angle to get the tips well under water).

I would buy another but cannot see this one clapping out any time soon.

I use the Matrix Patriot Pod, expensive, but damn it is good. There's one for sale on eBay right now for a decent price. Looks like it is brand new from the pictures.
