Now I am doing a lot of day sessions (I find that I need a quick to put up day shelter., preferably a brolly type......any recommendations guys??

I have a JRC oval brolly with sides, quick and good coverage, although arguably too much for a day .

My lads got a TFG oval brolly, it's good for days and he puts an overwrap on it for night. Think they're about £80.

A normal 45" or 50" umbrella. Or even just a Trakker windbreak if its a dry, warm windy day if they still make them

any brolly (umbrella) is ideal for a day session IMO.
I use one of the new Fox easy brollys - for days and nights...
around £120

They have been around since the year dot, used one as a teenager and i'm in my 50's now.
The comment about TFG umbrellas, sadly I believe TFG no longer exist, so there may be a few bargains to be had, or just none in stock anywhere.
I have a TFG Oval, it has stood up to summer and winter fishing for carp, pike and silver fish sessions, including overnighters.

Yeah, TFG no longer exist but plenty of their kit still knocking around. Fishing Republic have the brolly in, but it's not a particular bargain @ £85. Think my lads was £70 but a fair few years ago. Think the TFG kit that was bought out when Laney was involved with them was good, seemed to go downhill when the love affair finished. The oval brolly is fine, so much so that if I saw one going cheap, I'd get one.

I use a brolly made by angling direct , cheap , light and total rubbish but its done me 4 years and counting
or a golf umbrella if it looks ok

Unless you're big on the 'cocoon' factor, and extreme weather aside, a standard 50" Korum Umbrella (cough Brolly) is ideal. 2-3 kg and 5 seconds to put up and down.
The only downside is the hard banks in a dry summer, in which case you could buy a Brolly Spike for a tenner.
