Just picked up a bag but not sure what is the correct preparation for it. I will soak it for 24 hours but do I also need to boil.

A couple of different ways, sorry can't do links. Take your pick which one to go with. I use Pigeon Conditioner a lot, it's really good and cheap. Just be careful of the bream.

Cheers mate, anything I can add to it or just leave as is? Was just going to add maples to start with.
Just watched a YouTube video and guy added bicarbs, salt, tutti frutti, strawberry and scopex.

I sometimes put chick peas and sweetcorn in (tinned), but it's decent on it's own mate.

You can just put it in a bucket and pour boiling water over it and leave for 24 hours, but it definitely seems more attractive after a good boil as well.

Hoping not to state the obvious! Make sure it doesn't have any maize or white peas mixed in, otherwise the lot will need boiling.
If it's seed only, I always had excellent results for 24hrs in a cool box, expect it to double in size and cover it with a decent amount of boiling water.

You can add whatever you want, personally a bit of salt after soaking is enough

Chuck it in a bucket with some sugar and it goes nice and gloopy. Then add loads of salt to stop it going off too quick. When you use it chuck in a couple of bags of frozen corn. Cheap and easy to prepare, plus mega for cleaning off spots

Sounds good. I just cooked a load of maples to go in as well. Saw a chap on Youtube using them.

Maples (and Tares) are a cracking bait, I like them mixed with Hemp but the worlds your Oyster when it comes to particles and what you want to add to them.

Whenever I have used it just soaked it for a minimum of 24 in water. If not boiling water then at least 48 hours. Great bait of small seeds that keeps the carp grazing on it for hours and hours. Easily takes on flavours if added with the water but takes them on better if done with boiling water. In my opinion it's that potent it does need any added flavours.

So you just use it as it comes and don't add anything to it? My sense of smell still hasn't come back since Covid so I can't smell it at the moment but can you smell the Aniseed in it?

Yes. My sense of smell isn't the best either, but it's quite a strong aroma. And that's one of the reasons it so good on it's own.

Best soaked overnight, mixed with groats, and then boiled for a few minutes. The aim is to drive off any residual water.

Ken, is it best to store it moist once cooked tho or dry?

You certainly don't want it dry. It should be sticky and a little sloppy.

Heard of people adding sugar to it to make it gloopy?

You can but if you leave it in a little of the water for a couple of days is goes gloopy anyway
