Might be worth speaking to Danson's and get some on order - they do the best prices I've seen on Techs.

I think it has been discontinued. Shimano have a habit of doing this. Catana first, now technium black.

for the life of me I don't know why shimano have discontinued this line,not as if they make any other decent lines to use instead.
I think it has been discounted bud I've been using it for years but this year I couldn't find it absolutely anywhere so moved to synchro xt

I messaged total fishing tackle about it over Xmas and they said it was on back order and was expecting delivery in 5-6 weeks, so hopefully it is actually going to be on sale again soon,

I heard that this was happening last spring so i bought 15 spools of it in 12lb. should last me a while

It's only a guess but the UK packaging was different to rest of the world. Maybe it was case of aligning manufacture so that they only needed one for everywhere?

Well I emailed total fishing tackle again and they have replied saying they think it's been discontinued now ! What would you stop making one of the best lines on the market 😩 proper baffled me that, what's the next best thing now then ?

If stored out of sunlight and extremes of temperature I'd keep it many many years and still use it.

well looks like im not getting any tech black any time soon. what would people recommend in place of it? my main reason for using tech black was the low stretch and how tough it was. ive only used that and fluoro for past 10 years i think so i have no clue what other lines are like
like i so low stretch is top of my list, from what i can see there is touchdown, cm90, esp syncro (not sure if this is low stretch) id be struggling after that so any recommendations will be welcome

I did see it in there but says the 15lb is .35mm but it's always been .38mm . I've emailed them to ask which they have

When it was sold in tins the 15lb rated Tech black was always 0.35 in Europe and 0.38 here, would think it's all rated the same now in the different packaging but not 100% on that.
It's not the line it used to be I can say that for certain...glad I emptied a few shops in France when I did.

The stuff from europe that was labelled up as .35 was actually .38 when measured
well the spool of .35 I ordered from a european seller on ebay was anyway

I spooled up more recently with some “tech black” that came in a plastic box, soon ripped it off and went back to ESP XT
As I remember the tech black it is what I would call a line of it's own with a weird extra slick coating, when you inspected it you could see all the nicks in it after a while, it was proper tough stuff
The last lot I got was utter crap, felt wiry in comparison and did not feel the same at all to me, could be wrong? Either way I won't touch it again, I am guessing it's a rebranded cheap Crap Alternative?

Ordered a spool of 12 lb dark Technium from Club 2000 carp tackle and waiting for it to be delivered , I'll let you know if it's the black one if it turns up . The code was correct but it was listed alongside Invisitec .

Delivered today , yes it's 12lb 0.32 1100 m Technium black .I think they had more in stock .First time I've used them , I ordered it Sunday and delivered today , good service 👍 It was £14.99 .

12lb technium black could still pull a tree out of the water.
Used both the 15 and 12 in the past and never once had it snap.

I thought the same until I pulled half a pallet out of a park lake with it 😂 never had it go once and all the waters I fish are full of snags.

I only use 12lb line on my lighter Rods and linear X reels have used it on ss2600 and for a long time Emblems.

That suggests to me that even over time with the improvement of fishing lines a decrease in angling skills has outweighed that and so fisheries feel the need to stipulate a minimum of 15lb

Most lakes near me say at least 15lb is to be used, my syndicates will ban you if you use 12lb line. Although I do agree with you I think 12lb is absolutely fine just some people don't no how to use it

As I said if you're fishing a clear lake it's not an issue, I only tried it in 12 once and it broke on me due to the savage bars that inhabit the lake. Stripped it off and went for 15lb version. Never went again after that. It's rarely about the strength and weight of the fish, its what it's rubbing on on the bottom where abrasion resistance comes into play. I couldn't break the 12lb on a straight pull between my hands, but rub it over a piece of sharp gravel it's curtains.

So if that water said 15lb minimum breaking strain and they say that should be 0.35mm,what would happen if I was using fox exocet in 16lb but its only 0.33mm.I have met the requirements on breaking strain but not diameter.They should state diameter not b/strain as the rule

I'm using 11ft baby Ballistas 2.5 tc .I use 15lb for a larger weedier water I fish , different tackle for different waters . I'm sure I used to use 8lb Sylcast when I started fishing for carp , how things have changed .
