Hi, has anyone flavoured/soaked their leads in neat flavour/attractor to give some localised attraction in the area?

I used to dip my textured leads into liquids before a cast but no longer do it just because I can't be bothered 😂
Can't see it hurting your chances though. I also used to use Fox (could be korda/guru) paste leads but again due to laziness stopped doing it

I once posted some pictures on here. I had a dabble at one time drilling them out and then pushing fox dead bait foam plugs through them soaked in neat flavour with my forceps. Never persevered with it if I'm honest. Bugger to drill the lead, I used some 5oz distance leads and a 6mm bit, very slow speed required
Saying that I used to araldite sand and gravel onto my leads, gave up with that too
Flavoured lead core?

I can imagine some determined carp get frustrated, trying to pick up the lead and run off with it

Yes and like scozza suggested I also used to soak my lead core leaders, I used the old L0-30 many years ago, haven't done it for a long time since, kind of forget about these things over time.

Same here Mark, not much that has not been done in fishing I guess, try something and move on then they pop back up again
Used the L030 the same, makes a bit of a mess, smeared leadcore in paste, covered leads and swivels the lot

Yes, funny how a post jogs the memory, think it stopped for me when lead core was banned on my waters.
Just retackled my stalking rod with Rigmarole braided tubing and now thinking a soaking might be in order!

What about trying to find some of the old Richworth attracta leads?

I was thinking of flavouring those textured leads where you have a coating that an attractor would adhere to
Back in the early 90's we used to inject liquids into a capsule and fit them onto the lead. A company made leads for the purpose, might be Richworth as mentioned below.

Think were called Attracta leads, bit of a faff tbh, i'm thinking of just having a few leads soaking in a pot of attractor and just taking one out and clipping it on

I did this years ago using the Atomic Dung leads. They took a dip/flavour really well but I had to stop as I was getting so many ghost runs or foul hooked fish where they were literally picking up the lead, rather than the hookbait. It's always bugged me as I could never work out a way to use it in my favour. I tried everything from really short hooklink to 1 inch pop ups directly from the lead but it still kept happening. If you manage to figure it out then please let me know...
