Has anybody got any recommendations on good stoves? Mine has started slowly packing up and I'm not getting a strong flame out of it nomore. Thanks

Depends what sort of size you want, price etc. Coleman Sportster 533 I swore by till I got myself a Cadac Safari chef 2 HP. Will never use anything else again. IMO it is by far the best mobile stove money can buy and will do everything from boiling a kettle to making pizzas lol. All whilst being relatively compact.

If you want gas then bulin t4 is brilliant value, this time of the year the old Coleman sports tee can't be beaten 👍👍

I'm after a gas one. I've heard good things about the bulin t4 in the past so I think I'm steering towards one of those.

The cadac safari is great for proper cooking, I'll take the bulin in winter tho as its quicker to boil the kettle.
Your stove will just need a clean, there's nothing really to break down on them, assuming it's not slowing down just because the gas is too cold to vaporise

I treated myself to a Bulin T4 a couple of months ago, brilliant stove.
Recommendation I would suggest always using GoSystem gas canisters, they seem to be better than standard Coleman canisters. I found the thread and seal on Cadac canisters was not always the best.

I simply bought a small calor propane bottle and regulator for my Cadac works better as its hotter and of course no problems in below zero degrees

Tbh gerry, I only take the cadac in addition to a smaller stove anyway, most of the meals I cook with the cadac need a second pan anyway. In summer that'll be the little trakker stove, in winter the bulin. I don't use the bulin unless it's cold as I find it unstable unless on a level surface, I've had it fold itself up and tip over a couple of times.
I'll have a look at the propane option before I buy the ridgemonkey heater thing. Mines the hp version so I'm not sure I can rig it for propane

Weird thing is when I asked Cadac about these as I couldn't actually find any for sale they said they are only available in Europe and not the UK

Primus stoves mate, they are pretty simple and last a lifetime, ive had 2 different ones for over 20 years both still work the same as when i bought them, with zero maintenance , both the piezo electric starters have broken off them but thats all.
Mine are the easy fuel design. works on gas cans. there are lots of different versions available.

Ive used a primus omni fuel stove for 20 years and its never missed a beat. It sounds like a jet fighter starting up but its bullet proof.

Likewise, had my omnifuel for close to 10 years now and never even serviced it (my bad on that part). I left it abroad so in the meantime I bought a Bulin T4 on recommendations from here and i can't fault it. Honestly I think i prefer it to the omnifuel as I'm less careful with it and not having a rocket in your brolly is great

Exactly years ago I bought one it never made it to the bank I fired it up and the friggin noise !!!!! it was just like being at work ? (I worked at Heathrow airport next to running jet engines)
just sold it straight away these type of stoves are meant for people travelling that may be in a place where buying a tin of gas is not possible
so I can see no point in this country in owning one or the optimus 8r over rated over priced crap

Imo gas is **** in winter had a bulin t4 and it packed up within 6 months bought a cheap one off eBay as a replacement which I use spring onwards but once autumn/winter comes nothing beats the Coleman stove for me 👍

I use the Coleman for boiling water and the Bulin for when I'm trying to cook something in the RM without incinerating it

Found that switching to gas such as the Coleman extreme in the colder months helps. Never had an issue with my gas stoves even on the coldest of days.

The type of gas you use makes a difference.
Standard butane/propane mix is not as good as iso-butane, butane and propane. Coleman standard canisters are a plain mix of butane/propane, but they do do a cold weather version, which is better, as are GoSystem.
After the problems I had with a Coleman petrol stove I will never go back to petrol.
It is also more awkward carrying extra 'petrol' than a spare gas canister. The gas canister fits in your rucksack. While you can get fuel 'flasks' with a screw on lid, for longer sessions you do need a 5litre can, and filling your stove on the bank is not much fun.
Compare that to gas, unscrew canister, screw new one on and sorted.
A 500 size gas canister will normally give around 4 days (or more depending on how much coffee you drink😬
