Thanks for that don't no why I didn't do that haha looks alright but I'm not a fan of DPM, price wise seems a lot but I was expecting that

So basically what they're saying is the stuff we've been selling for the past 10 years is *****
Probably the decent Aquatex they used for the M3 and Pioneer when released in 2004....... 
I was thinking about this the other day sat in my V2 Bivvy.
The material just seems to be coated on the inside with some sort of rubberised finish, so how that is breathable I don't know as the Gore-Tex principle (which I always thought Aquatex was based on) is all about the microscopic holes in the fabric, that's how it works. My old M3 the material on that is similar but doesn't have the coating and in the right light you can see the 'weave' in the material from the inside so leaving the material more breathable surely.

That what I said going backwards I had a aqua atom aquatex bloke I got it from put it away wet and it was all stuck together a real mess and when it dryed it was full of creases looked awful like it had been screwed up in a bag he had it back lost faith in it as someone said you can't beat nylon imho

got to say the best bevy material i have even had was on my old JRC TX2G. Thick with a very rubbery feel on the inside. This still was very breathable with zero condensation even without the second skin. Guess it all depends on the quality they went with first up and perhaps the cost has come down on the better stuff so they can claim its all new and advanced and charge a premium for it. (cynical i know!)

Those JRC TX 2G bivvy's were mega! regret getting rid of mine now. had an m3 compact which was sound to be fair before a freak storm blew it up. just ordered an atom plus with the wrap for 300 notes from Johnson ross. see how that is

I totally agree with carpy 09 I keep saying if you keep paying they will keep putting the price up and other companies follow and then you won't be able to buy a bivvy under one thousand if they didn't sell they would have to reduce the price or have a warehouse full of them what a liberty to charge that amount for a fishing tent in the middle of this virus when people are struggling total arrogance

I only paid £450 for my v2 tempest xl 6 months ago from johnson ross and i thought thhat was a rip off. Imagine putting a hole in your new £1400 on the first outing.

. . watched the Chris Manifold Aqua 'doc' on you tube last night . . .reckon he might make me a prototype with the offcuts in his shed(s) for £1400 . . !
He actually states that unless you can create an automatically self assembling bivvy, that structural designs have pretty much reached a plateau . . .and on this basis materials specification (stronger/lighter/more resistant to the elements) will be the things that push bivvy design forward.
Don't think these are made of Goretex Pro & Graphene somehow tho . . .what is EV Aquatexx anyway . . ?

No different to expensive jackets, final frontier really, the ultimate breathable jacket. I've had the lot, Gortex, E.vent etc. Not perfected as yet. Probably need to get NASA involved!

Breathable materials on shelters aren't really needed as the source of "heat" inside the bivvy is too far away from the material to actually "push" through the pores in it (i.e. pressure too low). Also if the outside is dirty or wet, then the pores ill be blocked so no different to a non-breathable material in practise. This is why single skin breathable shelters still suffer with condensation.
The reason why breathable clothing such as true Gore-Tex will have a layered construction is so there is a gap that keeps the outer material away from touching the skin so it can breath properly & moisture on the skin doesn't block the pores up.

Is was mentioned on another thread they are no longer made in the same factory but yes they use to be
As for the price of the trakker gear the way I look at it is some people like expensive clothing, nice cars etc are they any better than the cheaper options so most likely not but it doesn't stop people buying them.
I like my designer clothing and have a few things in life a lot of people would think I'm wasting my money BUT it's a personal choice, if you want to buy the higher end carp gear go for it, if not don't simple as that really.

I get that mate I do, my point is just if people want to pay the price let them. Someone wrote on here they don't no how trakker are still in business well your be hard find a lake in the land without seeing a trakker bivvy on it these days. I no there is better out there but the problem is everyone is making cheap bivvies and charging loads for them
