Im looking for a new bedchair .
Im using the fox flatliter mk 2 atm but my old knackered back doesn't like it ..
I need something a little softer. Memory foam ?
Mayb a little wider than the standard flatliter .
A sleep system I can use all year round ..
Any ideas

New fox flatliner 3 season sleep system is what I changed to from the mk2 flatliter and been very happy with it I do use 2 of these inflatable mattress underneath the sleeping and never get a back ache . But what ever bedchair you choose get yourself a inflatable sleeping mattress will help he'll of a lot with stopping back ache.

i just got the new ss4 wideboy from nash and tried it out last week. can honestly say the comfiest bedchair i have ever been on which includes an nash emperor. I have had back problems my whole life and after a 4 day session i had no issue whatsoever.
the foam mattress works a treat, the under support which now runs basically whole of bed keeps the bed firm even for my fat 20 stone ass and the new leg supports are great with the bed being very sturdy. It also comes with usb connection for your phone and battery pack etc if you are in to that sort of thing.
Downside slightly on the heavier side and not cheap. Paid £490 which didnt even include a pillow (had to buy that at extra £50). But if you are willing to spend that sort of money well worth looking at Also the legs are longer then their previous beds which is great for getting in/out of but if your bivvy is on the low side this might be a problem

Wychwood tactical x. i've had fox but this one is comfy, wide and super lightweight. Weighs less than my chair!

Another vote for the tactical x and a quality SIM....
Much better than the original Wychwood tactical bedchair in terms of build quality, though perhaps not up there with the very best.
Well made enough, light and wide even in the standard size.
Not silly money either.
Mountain equipment SIM, latest Trakker big snooze and the bedchair all for less than £200 if you shop around. I just add a Trakker bedchair cover when it gets chilly.
The SIM is a game changer, just don't inflate it too much, needs a bit of give👍

Wonder if the Wychwood tactical X is better than the Sonik levelbed (The sonik is also cheaper here), I like my Sonik levebed (standaard), but I need the Compact for in my Quest Outer Block Bivvy but the compact is nowhere in stock here so I am considering the Wychwood tactical Compact

I have no loyalty to any brand,I have many brands in my fishing gear from jag to gardner,speero, delkim,trakker,Harrison shimano..if somethings good and does what it supposed to then i will say so,like wise if it's crap I will also say so...the tactical x is spot on,will it last 5 years,i don't know...Time will tell but its certainly a great product

Do the Wychwood tactical X have clip locks?
Sonik levelbed and Wychwood tactical are very similar, got 3 bedchair 2 without quik locks and the Sonik levelbed with quick lock i will never buy a bedchair again without quick locks

Purchased a Solar Sp C tech wide a number of months ago. Best decision I have made. Definitly not the lighest on the markest but definitly one of the best built. I purchased the system and cannot see me being cold. Havent slept as well and best of all no more bad back in the mornings.

I have a Cyprinus Memory foam bed and have had to go back to using that as its the only thing that seems to make my back happy ( i would buy another and stick it in my loft for when the one I have gives up if I could find one for sale somewhere)

The Sonic version WAS ! the same as the Wychwood compact until 2019
when Wychwood changed it and NOW it as adjustable lumbar support and is a superior bed now

I've only just bought the tactical x but had the previous model albeit with a Cyprinus badge on... The new one is better, only slightly heavier and adds lumbar support, one hand leg adjustments and a nicer material all round... I added some pics to the review thread in the review section
I tried a solar c tech in a shop and it is obviously better made with nicer materials but 17kg for the system just doesn't appeal to me.
I've had about three/four years ot of the cyprinus one, that did start to sag a bit so hopefully the lumbar support on the new one will sort that out.

And its common on here that people give a favourable review

I hear what your saying but the best bed I have ever used is the Trakker ELS no question
but I wanted a lighter compact bed to fit under a 50" brolly so I bought the 2019 Wychwood tactical X compact I always use a Sim initially bought for insulation and warmth but its more comfy as well
and hand on heart if I was blindfolded and slept on both beds I probably could not tell the difference ! both are lovely and firm and stops all back problems in my case as my back NEEDS a nice firm bed
I use a very expensive firm orthopedic bed at home that may explain it

Inflates in about 5 mins (less than), and is sooooo much better on the back.

I know what you are saying.....however I have had the Wychwood Tactical X since Christmas and have used it extensively. It is a very good bedchair for reasonable money.
Had a few over the years and this is definitely the best value for money.

I picked up a Fox Duralite bedchair system, after using an indulgence for a few years now the weight difference was an eye opener. Comfortable too. Recommended.

Lumbar support when sleeping on your side is a right pain. I bought a Fox second hand R2 second hand. Sleeping on my side (as I do) it was the most uncomfortable bed I have lain on. I have virtually removed the lumbar support and now I can sleep on it.
So who sleeps on their side and what bedchair do you use and is it any good?

I sleep on my side and I use one of the early
Indulgence wideboys with removable Fleece padding
In the centre. Between 10 and 15 years old.
Still very comfy. I also like the old style raised head
I have an old stealth bedchair and can do a night

I have a permanent shoulder injury and back issues and its totally impossible for me to sleep on my side but sleeping on my back or front is heaven on a firm to hard bed
the most nights I have slept in a session was 31 nights that was on a new Trakker ELS that I bought just before the trip and it was luxury perfect zero problems with back ache

Second thumbs up for the Duralite- bought the bag to go with it and it's mega, always surprised with how light it is as well

Whatever you do don't get a jrc rova, I sold my solar sp c tech to try to save on weight, I've not had good nights kip on it yet. It's going to be quickly demoted to the spare bedroom or sold. Do people actually test these things before selling them 🤔

I've just bought a solar ch08 as I couldn't stretch to the sp c tech.
Haven't used it in anger yet but had a little test in the lounge when it arrived, first impressions are it's firm but comfy but that suits me being a lump aswell doesn't sag even with my weight.
And at 200 quid I'd say it is well worth that, throw a sim on there if you really wanted to to increase comfort even more

Thing to remember with the solar is sitting in the edge does tend to make it sag in the middle, there isn't bungee straps to re tighten it eigther, my only gripes
