I use Fox Series 1 in a size 4 barbed in France. They were discontinued years ago but I've always managed to find them until now. You can still get other sizes but not in size 4

I remember someone on here saying they were identical to another make, the names Ace or Angling Iron seem to ring a bell but I could be wrong about that.
Can anyone help?

Done some searching I don't think it was Ace unless they discontinued it as well.
It looks like a standard pattern but I want to get as near as identical as possible.

I bought some Fox Kuro S1's hoping they will be the same but the shank is longer, a bit like the Carp Spirit (Ace) Longshanks.
The B175's do look very similar until you get them side by side. It's a confidence thing just want to carry on using what I've used for many years, don't want to have to build up confidence in something difference.

It's very close the Fox might have a tad wider gape? I'll keep that one in mind

Nash Longshank Twister is also on the short list

From memory the Ashima c310 or Carp R Us Gladiator LS or straight shank nailer were similar.

I'm a lover of this pattern too, bought as many as I could in size 4 off e bay, but as you say you don't see them anymore.

I've tried to find a similar pattern but have failed so far. Had dozens of Carp using this hook bottom baits and pop ups. 👍👍

Check out the Bank Tackle long shanks, they look similar

Maybe a slight difference in the angle of the eye but I can live with that it's the shank length and gape that matters to me.

Angling Irons also do what looks like a good one

I've spent hours researching this. Seems most manufacturers do a long shank but the gape on the Fox hooks seem a tad bigger and the shank a tad smaller than most. Whether if makes a great difference or not I don't know but when you've used something for 20 years with upmost confidence all you want to do is carry on using them.

So far I've identified around 15 different types and I don't want to buy 15 packets!

Another one to consider is an atomic haula hook its not as long in the shank as a lot of longshank hooks.

I too used the fox series 1's for a long time in france , i switched to them after losing a couple of fish on a conventional longshank hook after switching didn't lose another fish that week.

Unfortunately my supply has long since gone They do remind me of the kamazan b175 which has been mentioned already but from memory the b175 was finer in the wire and didn't seem as strong

I got my remaining hooks out today for another look and the packaging says they are medium shank, I've always regarded them as long!

If you remember at the time they also did a series 4 longshank which was a lot longer than the series 1 and im sure was a longer shank than most of todays longshank variants

TBH honest once I found the Series 1 I didn't pay too much attention to the others but I've just had a google and the 4 is how you say very long.
