Is there something you can buy that goes on the end of a hook to protect its sharpness while left on the rod in a holdall?

Yes just google fishing hook point protectors....

Gardner tackle do them,,,, thinking angling do them and I'm sure there will be cheap copies on eBay...

I suppose you could also use rig hook beads if needed ... just only push in a few mm

A rubber boilie, had 3 Korda things on mine for years... And stops em getting snagged up in the sleeves.. Simple,

Just a bit of zig foam or cork

Use quick change link clips, no need to have a hooklink left on a rod in a holdall.

As per the previous post, roll up filter tips, you can get a bag of 100 or more for less than a £1, cut them in half and they fit perfectly over the hook point?

Where do I attach it to? Do I tie the mainline directly to a quick change clip and then just clip it to the swivel on a rig?

Use THESE like you would a normal swivel, either in a lead clip (without the ring) or on the line heli style (with the ring), then rather than a swivel at the end of your hooklink just tie a perfection loop, add a rubber bead with a hole in on the hooklink and slide that over the clip after attaching the hooklink, also great for detaching the hooklink while a fish is in the net to get the rod out the way
