anyone using them and got any feedback been using muggas and wide gape but fancying a change

I took some to France a few weeks ago and fished them with D rig kickers,
I was very impressed with them, they are very sharp straight out the packet, Probably still sharp enough after a fish, although I changed them anyway,
Had fish to over 50lb on them and they stood up well
They are quite a large hook for their size, I used 4's and compared to a Mugga they are big!

I have used size 5 for Ronnie rigs and they did the job well. Tied some bottom bait rigs with a size 6 to see if I could do away with the shrink tube I use with size 5 Grippers. I didn't find the hookholds as consistent with the size 6 Trighammers as with the size 5 Grippers and shrink tube, so I'll stick with the Grippers for now.
Sharp out of the pack - the tip of the point on the Trighammers are very fine and prone to bending after a fish, but if they don't then they can easily be used again.

I brought some of the Trighammers to see what they are like, as below they appear at least a size bigger if not 2 than an equivalent Mugga (Which is my usual hook) but appear so due to their long shank design. They are sharp out of the packet and appear to be an effective pattern, yet to use myself but from the packet they don't seem any better for my usual Ronnie Rig than the Mugga.

I have a few packs and I've found 1 maybe 2 of each pack the point has gone over on them in the packet

One guy says the points are going over in the packets, yet you need to buy especially sharpened ones. Speaks to me of poor quality control. Which is not something I would normally relate to a company like esp.

I have had a few packets of these now and not had an issue with any.I do take them out of the packet and store them in a hook box though

You don't need to buy specialist sharpened ones. That's his choice to do that. I had two packs. 8/10 hooks in each packet I was happy to use straight out the packet. The others needed the slightest of touch ups.
Hooks are sharp enough to bury themselves deep in to a swan's beak (don't ask) out the packet. That is much tougher than the mouth of a carp.

There will always be some dodgy packs, or even some idiot in the shop testing them out the packet before buying and blunting them. Or during transit. Plenty of variables.

I opened one up last week... by catching my brolly when loading up for a cast. Don't think the hook is to blame somehow

All my hooks have been bought sharpened for a few years now, since changing over to sharpened hooks my catch rate seems to have increased no end. No exact proof of this, but gives me a lot more confidence which in turn make me more a lot happier.
My choice to get them done, no doubt there are doubters, everyone has an opinion.
Love the sharpened Trigs, they're deadly, probably are anyway, but definitely are now.
Can't comment on any turned over in a packet as each sharpened hook comes with a point protector.

Just received 2 pks through the post ya not kidding about them being bigger hah the all look sharp like gunna tie a few rigs up and try them out later on next week

I have been using these since they come out , they are very big(length wise) for the size so I've scaled back to a 6 or 7 when needed, only used these as slip-d Ronnie's and have had no problems so far. i cant comment on any points turning in packets as i put them into a hook box however they are very sharp out the packet. The gauge is very thin which did worry me but haven't had one open up or hook pull so will continue using on the Ronnie.

was going to look at using these on a bottom bait rig , has anyone used ?

I have been using these this year. Well sharp enough ( also use SSH for other patterns).
I did bend a shank on a fish (#5) last trip. No hard pressure either, so there may be the odd bad one in some packs...

Really like d the trighammers, but too much flex for me and a few accounts of them opening out, I'm going to try the slammers next and just extend the shank to mimic a trig hammer.
Any thoughts on this? Will that work?
