I am currently using Nash SS on my Syndicate and to be honest I have lost a little faith in it, so been looking at alternatives.

I am ready good things about sticky and DNA.

What are your opinions? Nash scopex squid, sticky krill or DNA s7 or all?

I like to use fishmeal boilies I have been using the sticky Krill pretty much since it came out. It has caught me fish everywhere I have fished and the bait range has everything you need. Personally I have absolute confidence in the bait. I use shelf life.

I've used the S7 shelf life for about a year now and I've been really happy with it. I've not used Sticky so can't compare I'm afraid.

I think from a value point of view (not discounting quality, which is definitely still there) it's tough to beat the DNA bulk deals they have on their website. £135 for 20kg of boillies, litre of liquid and 2 tubs of hookbaits with free delivery, can't go wrong!

DNA is a fantastic bait and great value, I've used S7 and Switch with some success over the last year or two, wouldn't hesitate in recommending it!

I'm a new convert to DNA after quite a while on Sticky. So far my initial experience of the bait is good. I've bought nutta, s7 and slk so far. With various liquids and hookbaits. It's all been good.

The thing with sticky I find is that the krill is head and shoulders above the other baits in their range. I find the Manilla, vortex and bloodworm quite ordinarily baits, manilla the better of the other three. I've adopted a tactic of mixing bait types this year and with sticky I kind of felt I was mixing in an inferior product to the krill. I don't feel this at all with the dna so far, in fact I'd struggle to say which out of slk and s7 I prefer. I'm also mixing in a bit of nutta and it all seems good so far. Hookbaits and liquids all been good but I've only bought limited amounts of them.

As far as pop ups are concerned I did several winters single hookbait fishing with the sticky range. The Buchu Berry is the only one I'd buy again. It outfished their other pop ups by a mile, several fish to one. I found the quality of their pop ups a bit variable, especially if really boosting them with bait sprays. I had a few that lost buoyancy. I've not used the DNA fluro range so I can't comment on them.

Give the very good value deals on DNA, the excellent delivery service and the solid range of products, DNA edges it for me, as I feel Sticky are a bit of a one hit wonder, even if that one hit is a hell of a bait.

I really rated the frozen bloodworm boilies, but the shelf life are completely different. I would use those over the krill if still available. Agree the pop ups are pants though.

When they only did the bloodworm years ago, along with the actual fermented bloodworm from a can I really liked it. I think this was when the original owners had it. Jason/smurf was it?? Not available now unfortunately

Does it have to be one of the three mentioned? I'd go down the smaller companies route? The big boys have bigger spending power ingredients wise but they also have larger overheads, advertising, fancy packaging and paying superstars. Controversial, but smaller Reputable companies are probably making a better more nutritional boilie?

You are probably right james but his mind is made up so one blank on anything apart from what he's said would ruin his confidence probably. 1st trip out for me on krill gave me two fish from what I was told a crap swim on hardwick means I'm happy. Fickle bunch we are as I had a test bait from madbaits which caught from birchgrove where it had certainly never been used before and we caught plenty but I wasn't going fishing often and convinced myself my pop ups dips etc were getting old so sold what I had and bought stickys krill.

TBH any bait, good or bad, is going to catch fish, because that is all people are using, loads going in, constant availability/baiting up for each other really, the fish are not going to be caught on anything else.
So Bait XYZ looks blinding in the marketing ads.

No, I tend to mix them in a spod mix and fish either on the hook, I haven't seen any difference between them in winter or summer. Good all year round baits.

Can't comment on anything other than DNA S7, been using it since it came out, it catches everywhere I've been and well. I use it through winter too.

Hmm, interesting read for me.
I was going to use sticky baits krill, but have found out that manilla has done ok to on water I'm fishing.

I don't know the extent of how many people use either bait on the lake.
But as the manilla is for year round use too, it's swaying me to go on it.

Ive started using both S7 and SLK since lockdown....caught on both baits .....one water slk outfished s7 and on another the s7 is out fishing the slk.....i am impressed with the baits so far....I've found proper jobs fishy peach hook baits work well over the s7...... get some good deals as well with dna baits.....i was using sticky krill for a few years but fancied a change.... the krill is also a good bait...I haven't used the dna baits long enough to compare properly to krill.... And would happily go back to krill should the need ever arise

I've been on Manila for the last 3 seasons on a low stock Venue (20 fish, 30 acres) during season 1 and 2 I caught most of the sought after fish including one which had only one previous capture. I consider Manila an extremely good bait, stickies pop ups are complete rubbish so you have to drill them out and add a large bit of cork. I'm now on a Cambs pit with form of being renound as one of the countries most difficult waters, I've recently started to mix a small amount of krill with my Manila, I'm yet to catch, only time will tell what the winning formulation will be, one things for sure, I won't be leaving stickie any time soon

It's worth mentioning I didn't use krill initially because Tench love it, and the water I was fishing was rammed with them so I needed a good bait which I could keep in the water for extended periods

I would be very, very surprised if your lack of success was down to you using Scopex Squid. I use it and if I blank I know it's my fault, not the baits.
Lots of anglers blame their bait and other stuff before blaming their own lack of ability to get things consistently right. It's why the big bait firms have to keep bringing out new baits.
