Looking for long distance throwing stick recommendations. I have the century and daiwa ones on my list so any feedback on those or alternatives would be most welcome.

Unfortunately mine shattered with the first boilie. Emailed, no response. Tried a few including carbon. It appears my limit is 100 yds so use cheap prologic plastic, does the job, no loss in range.

Hope this is not too far off topic, but what's the furthest distance possible with a boilie and a throwing stick.
I think my furthest would be possibly 100 yards but i doubt much further.

The boilie will be a bigger factor in obtaining greater distances rather than the actual stick !!

The daiwa one is great. However as someone has already said without the right boilie you aren't going to get maximum distance. If you really need extreme range then you need to ask your bait maker to tweak the bait to make it denser and firmer.

Yes definitely it's the boilie that matters, when I was using a stick at range I had mine made with limestone flour and extra egg albumin. The baits were Trigga at the time and were heavy and rock hard, they really did go a long way.

140yrds carbon stick air dried 20mm flat calm
Got a bit giddy put loads out and struggled to grab the rod there after not for the faint hearted, arm was killing me.
I think anything after that would need 22m or bigger and a wind behind you.
Job was to boat out drop your rig and say 20 baits then stick the rest worked a treat.
Think my stick is a pro logic carbon weighs nothing, was a thread on here many years ago.
Fancy that diawa one carbon thats liked on here a lot.

The frank Warwick or ACA sticks are very good for distance, but as said earlier the bait is just as important.

The NGT carbon one believe it or not is very good, better than the Ridgemonkey one at least
I use the pro logic carbon one which is probably the same as the Tackle Box carbon stick and the NGT one?

I have an ace and put 18mm 110 yards.
Guys. The unthinkable has happened and I've killed my ACA/Warwick stick. Is there any other stick that can genuinely come close the ACA for distance? I'm after a nice long carbon stick. The Fox one looks quite long and I looked at the Daiwa too.
Any advice?

Value for money is the least of my worries buddy. In fact if anyone has an ACA sitting around I'll happily give them 200 notes for it. I need genuine distance.

If you do range fishing regularly, and specialise and tweak things to suit.
Bait, get it as perfectly round, hard in texture, and dense in weight.
Get the right throwing stick, most go for curved carbon and lightweight and lots and lots of practice.
But remember to properly warm up the hand, forearm and shoulder muscles as long range stick work is brutal !

How long was the aca stick?
My cfx stick seems to go further than the easy stick but I guess you need a fair bit more

I did have a very large collection of sticks dating back to the Cobra ally ones over a dozen different ones some I picked up when in Holland and France
but TWO stood out for distance the Solar Tackle Sharp Shooter was amazing for long distance once you learnt how to use it a completely different technique had to be used it was more like using it like a fishing rod cast
the other one that was outstanding and my favourite was the awesome DIAWA INFINITY throwing stick a joy to use and capable of very long distances
sold them all now except one thats the Harrison straight stick not a long distance stick by any means but superbly accurate to around 100 yards ish

Try Orient Rods...they have a UK faceache page and a UK mobile number. The set up is a bit random but the sticks are really well made, i've had one a while and can't fault it.

The Diawa infinity is what i ended up going for for distance. Its a good stick.
If you pass near north of brum regularly and want to have a borrow for a week or so, give me a shout.

I've got the 1100 and a 1300 in 27mm. Baits need to be fully air dried and rock hard to get the most from them but you can put 24mm baits miles

The Fox rangemaster20 that I've got is 90cm long and highly recommended, although I have broken it and fixed it a couple of times, they do not like being trodden on or having loaded rod bags dropped on them! It's currently broken beyond repair as it was strapped to my bike and I crushed it while getting my leg over

Mine came in a case, which is nice but not quite up to the job of protecting it from a bit of a clumsy idiot. Where I'm fishing currently I can get away with using a catapult but would buy another if needed.

Also, as far as range goes, I've put 18mm boilies 120yards with it on a calm day, as per google maps.
