Hi to all Carpforum members. I've been looking at the site for many years but this is my first post. Maybe lockdown has something to do with it. Seen some really good information over the years from people generous with their helpful advice. My question is more than a little "tongue in cheek" so please don't take it too seriously. I have a bit of a dilemma. I only have about 25ml Rod Hutchinson Scopex left. Now, I'm not one to sleep with crystals dangling over me and am certainly no "new ager", but, what do you think of my chances of using homeopathic levels of scopex in my baits? My understanding is 1 part to a thousand equals a homeopathic dose. Any views?

I think you'd be wasting your time. At those levels once you've boiled the bait I doubt there would be any meaningful amount left.
Just to really rub salt in your wounds. I've got a bottle of Rods Scopex, and when I say Rods I literally mean his own personal flavour from his house. The actual stuff he used to make his own baits. And no you can't have it.

I'm not sure that the average carp is as susceptible to marketing and approval by Sting as the average homeopath...

hopefully I didn't sound too sarcastic
I guess the thing about flavour is that it's already diluted once it hits the water so in this case less isn't more... I know sharks (and my ex wife) can smell blood in 1 part to 1 Million or something but unfortunately I can't see this one working.

Have you considered doing the homeopathic one-drop-in-a litre nonsense a few times, then flogging the resultant bottles of water on eBay, pictured next to the bottle of the real thing?
You'd probably earn enough to get a few litres of the best version available nowadays.

Does anyone still have any Red or Green Zing hanging about I wonder? For those that don't know these were Geoff Kemp products. The green was rather nice, the red was -well my first wife almost left because of it. There was also Sweet Peanut - had a lot of fish on that one.

The original dated back to the 80's. Much like Scopex not seeming the same now as then, I wonder how different Moore's version was?

Unlikely to see same geoff kemp flavours anymore. And for those who think mown grass is a reference to astroturf. Mown grass was a geoff kemp flavour also. The shellfish by kempie probably did contribute to my divorce way back.

Was Geoff involved with Bait78? They did a Mown Grass flavour as well, which seems a bit of a coincidence.
Had plenty of fish on both Green and Pink Zing.

Not sure essex andy. Did well on Mown grass with milk proteins basemix. Funny, often reminds me of good days when i smell freshly mown grass.

I had a bottle of GK's mown grass - smelt nice in a weird way, but never caught flip all on it. Now, Pink Zing, that was another story. Did really well on that combined with my own base. Condensed Milk was another winner. Scopex was king for me though.

GKs Dairy Cream was the one I'd love to have now. Tried a number of claimed ‘same-as' copies, nowhere near in smell or effectiveness. Sorry OP for the detour...

On the bottles it says bait4carp.com whom I've never heard of, quick Google search doesn't find much, I think its a foreign company, anyone dealt with these or Shortferry before?
The bottles don't have any instructions, anyone know how many ml per kilo for Geoff Kemps 1, Juicy Plum, 2, Peanut & Tigernut syrup and 3, Rosehip?

Yes. They're genuine. Many years before Geoff did a few bits with CC Moore, he released a few of the old flavours via the Web through Shortferry. The ones on Ebay recently are the last of that batch that I suspect were sitting in the back of a warehouse and had been forgotten.

Strangely enough I bought a bottle of green zing from short ferry angling stored in my bait fridge, remembering my success on this in the 80's across a number of waters I made a one egg mix of cork ball hook baits that smell fantastic. I intend to use them as single hookbaits in the spring hopefully with the success previously had
Juicy Plum 5ml per six eggs, thank me later

Thanks for confirming, gives me more confidence, and your right, they are advertised as old stock, the paper stickers on bottle are worn from being stored.
I'm so glad they are original and for under £20 for 3 x 100l bottles inc delivery is absolute bargain, Peanut & Tiger syrup sold out, they have Lush Coconut, Juicy Plum and Rosehip left, but not many.

Says in the description that the amount in the bottles are approx as they are filled from a larger bottle. So I'd imagine the flavours are in 5L drums and are being separated
