Hey,

After a massively long hiatus from carp fishing due to living abroad, i'm now stuck back in the UK due to border closures and what not. I've gone and got all my old carp gear out ready to go fish when this lockdown is over.

I've bought a pot of pacific tuna pop ups off a popular UK site and the pot is half empty with only 30 inside, plus the pop ups which are in there can't even hold up a size 6 ronnie. My question is, do CC moore send out their pots half empty and have i been sent wafters or are their airball pop ups normally like this?

Hi mate,
I can't see the image.

The best way to handle this issue is directing it to ccmoore via facebook or mail.
They are very helpful and will sort thing out in a proper manner.

Picture is now added after some annoyance on my end. I'll give them a call now and see if they are open, if not i'll give FB a try.

Cheers

CC Moore pop up pots are always half empty, but they aren't usually that bad for buoyancy. Did you get a little sachet of booster? I only use the northern specials but you get one in there.

My pot of CCM Pacific Tuna pop-ups contained 38 baits. They hold up a standard 360 for 24 hours.

Ok so the quantity is normally, I was used to pop up pots from Sticky which used to br brimming if my memory serves me right.

No booster in the pot, they are on the soft side compared to all of my other pop ups (saying that they've been in storage for 5+ years)...

5-10mm cork fixed the issue. Not happy but it'll do

Just had a message from CC moore and they've said that each pot should contain 50, so maybe we're all being had, lol.

"Looking at the photo you have got wafters there and its strange that you have received a half pot, the only thing I would say on that is out 15mm pop ups and wafters should contain 50 hookbaits."

This is what was said in the email to me.

Using the cork isn't a hardship and it will save you a little money and you only have to carry one pot with you lol

Was hoping for a plug and play kind of approach in regards to bait but i suppose i can live with drilling out and cutting the cork up...such a hard life ha.

I'm fussy as hell with pop ups. I found them to be sound? Last year I had em soaking in salmon oil and other bits and they still held up hinges for 48 +. Tried sticky's krill and they laid flat overnight!?? Shame because there spot on for using over a fish meal I use..

I find ccmoore food bait pop ups really bouyant. Used all of the range and never had issues with them holding rigs up for 24hrs+

CC Moore have been taking the piss for years, they do 1 or 2 worthwhile things but i always go to the warehouse and pick up the few bit's i buy in person.

Never had a pot of pop ups that had the same correct amount in or any consistency in buoyancy .

Found them very buoyant tbh you sure you didn't accidentally order wafters??

In relation to the pot being half empty that is common same with Nash pots are never full, sticky and mainline seem to have more hookbaits per pot

Nah 100% ordered pop ups and even the label which says “contents:” has been penned out.

Cc Moore support even mention it should have 50 per pot of 15mm.

You need a decent pop up to hold up a Ronnie with all the metal work. Personally don't use ccmoore but have noticed they take the piss with half pots.

Use proper job pop ups they will stay upright for days! Most bouyant pop up out there. They are pricey though but you pay for what you get really

"Looking at the photo you have got wafters there and its strange that you have received a half pot, the only thing I would say on that is out 15mm pop ups and wafters should contain 50 hookbaits."

So they didn't then add "We apologise for this and a pot of 50 pop ups is in the post"

Just to check, this order came direct from CC Moore yes?

I would say no to that chuffy. Another one of these blame the manufacturer when there is a man in the middle thread.....

No blaming the manufacturer from me. I was just asking questions, never named the site I ordered from as it may not be their fault also.

Not sure it's entirely fair to judge the quality and performance of a food based product that is over 5 years old. Most of these products are not vacuum sealed.

The CC Moore is a brand new pot, bought a couple of days ago. The pop ups I'm comparing it to are 5+ years old and easily hold a Ronnie.

Hi @Spen89
I am disturbed to see and hear of the problems you've had with our pop ups and would like to ensure you get the product you wanted and paid for. I'm not sure where you bought them (and would rather you didn't say publicly) but they have clearly been tampered with by someone and we would like to investigate this and ensure you get the product you wanted and deserve.

-Please email us urgently at mail@ccmoore.com so we can investigate and resolve this matter for you asap.

As with any customer who is in any way dissatisfied with any of our products, we ask that you contact us directly so we can look into it and put it right for you; similarly @spinbowler, if you have never had the quality or amount of products you should in a purchase from us then we are shocked and disappointed and would fully expect you to contact us so we could investigate this and put it right for you.

We take customer service and product quality very seriously and know that sometimes mistakes can be made - and if so, we'd like to know about this through direct communication to us, so we can put it right and ensure our customers go away satisfied and come back to buy from us again.

In reference to the point made about the number of pop ups in our pots, this is something we have taken on board and will be adjusting in the future once current stock of products and packaging run out.

Again, if any CC Moore customer is dissatisfied with one of our products, please contact us via mail@ccmoore.com

Many thanks
Ian

I've never had any issues with CCMoore and have nothing but respect for their service and products, as demonstrated below.

Sounds to me like some have been pinched from the pot and/or possibly been swapped for wafters.

You must admit that they only give you half a pot of northern specials though? The reason why I stopped using them, most other bait makers cram as many as they can in.

Ian, any chance your Pink Dairy pop pup's can actually be washed out? And have some consistency in buoyancy?

I live within 10 miles of Stalbridge and for 25 plus years have been ducking my head on those rickety stairs until the move, used your bait when next to no one else was outside Somerset and Dorset. We both have a friend in Wadebridge 😉.

I even fish with one or two of your employees 👍

QC is clearly an issue based on this thread, your not alone, today likes and hits seem to be more important than the product for some of your competitors

And why was your CLO cheaper in the horse department than it was up stairs? 😂😂😂😂

They state a quantity and that's what they put in there.... I've never had a pot that isn't the quantity stated. I always purchase direct from CCM so maybe that why, I don't know. All I am saying is that I've never had an issue.

@spinbowler
I'm sorry if you have been disappointed with some of our products.

I would say our Dairy Supremes are washed out; they certainly are when compared to our Northern Special Pink hookbaits but perhaps that's a subjective view. (I wanted to post a comparison image I have but couldn't do so).

Regarding our CLO being differently priced in our old bait dept. when compared to our Horse dept.: that would have been as all fishing bait (held up for sale as fishing bait) incurs VAT whereas horse feed doesn't.

Marcus is a very nice guy to work with. I hope he is well but haven't spoken to him for some time as he hasn't done any work for us for 3-4 years.

As I said, if you have problems or are dissatisfied with any of our products then please email us at mail@ccmoore.com to give us the opportunity to try put any problems right for you.

I am afraid I don't have time to keep viewing and responding to posts on forums or social media pages so please email us as requested so we can address any concerns you may have directly. I hope you feel that is reasonable.

Thanks
Ian

I wouldn't even say it was an interesting point. Most people know that different industries have different vat rates. Its why I can go into a bird food wholesalers near me and get csl and various other stuff in bulk for a lot cheaper than in a tackle shop, vat and taxes are the only constant I'm afraid haha

Sorry to dig up an old thread, anybody used the 12mm northern specials on ronnie rigs ? Will they hold a size 6 up for 24 hours ? Cheers

I wouldn't be that confident. The NS1+ will do the job, even trimmed down a bit if you want a smaller bait.

Agree, I don't use a Ronnie but for my hinge rigs I have confidence in the + versions of CC Moore pop ups not the normal versions. If you see many of the sponsored anglers they add Cork to the pop ups which again speaks volumes

Not really when you actually speak to them, it's more for making it as light as possible, plus I use the normal northern specials not the + and I test em after glugging with a size 4 wide gape XX Ronnie if they pop that up then they are buoyant as hell
