Johnson Ross Covid -19 CLOSURE Update
We have now taken the decision to close our mail order department as well as the shop to protect our staff.
All orders placed by 2pm today, the 26th March will be shipped out for delivery, after this you can continue to place orders online and these will be shipped out in order that we receive them once it is safe for us to re-open, at present we cannot say when this will be. If you are happy to place orders on that basis please go ahead, if not please hold fire until we can update you on the situation.
As of today there will be no one present to answer the phones so please do not call, if you have any questions or queries please email us through the contact form on the website and we will answer you as soon as we can although this may not be as quick as normal.
Thank you for your continuing support and we look forward to seeing you again.

yea to be fair cant say I dont blame them luckily I stocked up with terminal tackle so I can make up lots of rigs

We all know the severity of the current situation, but I am not sure why they have not carried on with the online business, as most companies are doing that? Admirable that they are not putting profits before the welfare of their staff though!

How are the staff required to process the orders supposed to get to work? You are not supposed to travel unless you are a key worker, essential journeys only are food or medical shopping.

One of the best I have ever been in
Nothing is too much trouble.
Not sure if there is anywhere in the shop that would enable each of the staff to be 2m away from someone else though

That isnt correct - you can travel to work if it is impossible to work from home and social distance can be maintained

Spent 780 quid in there last month, not the cheapest are they but those that live local are very lucky people with that much choice.
I particularly like the way the boss's convince themselves way before they convince you that they have done you the best deal since Terry Tibbs bought those wooden ladder's., tighter than a duck's arse springs to mind.

I also thought it was only key workers supposed to travel, we have been issued with documentation with names and hours that may be worked to cover any eventuality of being stopped.

It is, documentation is being issued and the key worker list I'd growing daily. If you are allowed to go to work because your job can't be done at home 80% would still be going to work.

We cant go fishing at the minute so it might as well be shut. The more people that are not at work and are sat at home the better.

I will not shop anywhere else, not the cheapest but the service and stock level is off the chart. May find cheaper but you will be waiting bloody ages for it. Always delivered the next day as well.

Well Im using the time to respool new line and tie up lots of new rigs for different locations and species
Luckily England Angling was open ?
and Tim is always super fast with normally the best prices and most things free delivery too

I dont understand the confusion, it is very clear. We are able to continue travelling to work if working from home is not an option and social distance/safety measures are implemented. Below is taken from the Government facebook page and Government website today (27th March). Government sources is the only source that matters, not opinion, not press and not random social media posts.. At the moment we are encouraged to still work if possible and safely.

You can go to work if your business is still operating and the social distance rules can be adhered to .... Non essential shops were shut to help manage this more effectively.
The list of shops allowed to stay open, makes the staff employed there effectively a "key worker" whether they work in supermarket of work in a cycle shop. The word "essential" was used in regards to retails shops/premises only and not different trades/workers. Many of us work can work alone, travel alone, work outside and with minimal/zero contact with the public and can carry on until the government shut us down or we get symptoms ourselves

The key worker as used by the government refers to people whose job allows them to still send their kids to school.
All tackle shops should close their doors to visitors and all classified sections should be closed, buying/selling tackle is not essential travel. Stay at home, stay safe.

Pretty sure tackle shops are closed to visitors ? Lets hope these businesses can get through this period with no trade through if they have to stop mail order as well. Perhaps Government are allowing delivery companies to carry on working to reduce the number of businesses possibly folding ?
