My trusty Sony pocket transistor radio has finally died . What are you guys using ? Don't want to pay the earth but must have decent AM reception for talksport, thanks 👍

A little more money but Roberts do some great rechargeable DAB radio's. Digital reception is so much better and you'll save a fortune in batteries. Sports DAB is about £60

I use a small Outwell wind-up radio with a built-in solar panel. It has AM and FM reception. It has served me well for years.

I recently got an AZATOM Pro Sports S1 DAB Digital Portable FM Radio from Amazon. Good reviews and also works as a portable radio without the need for earphones.

Agree Roberts rechargeable sports radio excellent bit of kit no need for earphones plus with digital over analog you get more channel options which is useful if your teams on talk sport 2

I have used a 'Pure Move T4' DAB for the last 2 years and its awesome. Sound quality is good enough to use it cranked up in the bait making room and the battery lasts ages. It charges off a usb so no batteries to buy. Size wise Its small enough to fit in your pocket.
RRp is around £120 but I paid £50 on fleabay for new one boxed.

I just use my phone now as I carry a battery power pack as do others,use the simple radio app you can get most stations on there or use what you want to listen to off the stations web site

Thanks gents, some great suggestions there . I ended up going the DAB route and ordering the Azatom . Although I like the Roberts I couldn't justify the price for how often I'd use it . So went for the Azatom , good price and 3 year guarantee so worth a punt , thanks .

i got the Azatom sports too and for price seems v good, plenty good enough to have on low in a bivvy

The price of DAB radios certainly seems to be dropping. I have a Pure T4 and if you can get one for the right price they are excellent. They do come up cheap now and again on fleabay.

I got the ‘pro sport S1' which seemed to have pretty good reviews so hopefully will be ok . I didn't find a great selection which were small , had an external speaker and had a built in rechargeable battery . The battery life seemed pretty poor in general so rechargeable for me seemed the way to go .Time will tell but hopefully 🤞

I've got this in my eBay waiting at the min I was a bit worried about it being so cheap to whether it was any good or not and that's it will last but seems to have for you? So what's the signal and all like on it pretty decent for the money?

Signal is fine mate, the only thing I will say about them is they don't display station names etc, just channel number after you've tuned it in, apart from that well worth the cash for all the functions you get. By the way, Powapacs used to sell these for £49.99 on their site, just checked and they're now reduced to £29.99. I had an ebay voucher when I got mine so cost me about 18 quid I think.

Spot on daz At 20 odd quid that's a fair price for the size of it need to downsize everything 
Does it have a decent battery life or can you get ahold of replacements and swap them out through the session mate?

It takes 18650 batteries mate, of which I have loads for my vaping gear, you can also recharge with a power pac. As with all DAB radios battery life isn't as good as a normal am/fm radio but that hasn't bothered me because of the batteries.
