Well what a strange place Morocco is..
Morocco carp fishing whom have had soul rights to Bin El Ouidsne have been refused the lease and will be closed as off June!

The old company I guided for will now be back in business! Funny old place is Morocco, money talks I guess.....

Sam, I have not been surprised by the recent goings on, over there. Like you said ...money talks, no doubt.
Just feel sorry for Mark and his team after 9 years of work

As per the 3oth April update on their facebook page and website, I f anyone is not aware, and was planning a trip over there, see he below statement.

MOROCCOCARPFISHING IS REALLY SORRY TO ANNOUNCE YOU THAT THE UNOFFICIAL RUMOUR” HAS UNFORTUNATELY BECOME OFFICIAL.
INDEED, ON THE 20th OF APRIL MARC RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL LETTER FROM BENI MELLAL AUTHORITIES REPORTING TO HIM THAT THE LEASE 3-6-9 WAS NOT RENEWED FOR THE COMPANY MOROCCOCARPFISHING.
LIKE ALL FRIENDS AND FAITHFUL CUSTOMER OF MARC, WE DEEPLY REGRET THIS TURNAROUND SITUATION OF BENI MELLAL AUTHORITIES.
FOR "ADDICTED" BEO CUSTOMERS, AND WE KNOW THEY ARE MANY..., THERE ARE STILL SOME OPPORTUNITIES TO FISH THE LAKE BUT ONLY TILL THE 30th OF JUNE, 2016.
THEREFORE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL AGENT VERY FAST TO ARRANGE AN ULTIMATE SESSION.
FROM 01/07/2016 ONWARDS, ALL EUROPEAN MOROCCOCARPFISHING AGENTS WHO HELPED YOU DURING THE LATEST 9 YEARS WILL DEFINITELY STOP THEIR RELAY ACTIVITIES.
ANY PERSON WILLING TO MAKE A FISHING SESSION AT BEO AFTER THE 1st OF JULY WILL DO THAT AT THEIR OWN RISKS AS A LOT OF NEGATIVE INFORMATIONS WERE REPORTED ABOUT FUTURE RESPONSIBLES/MANAGERS (?).
ON BEHALF OF MARC, WE ALSO THANK ALL THE NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE RENDED POSSIBLE THAT BEAUTIFUL ADVENTURE.
HOWEVER DO KEEP AN EYE FROM TIME TO TIME TO MOROCCOCARPFISHING WEBSITE ... AS SOMETHING TELLS US THAT THE WHEEL IS TURNING ...
SOMETIMES A STEP BACK IS USEFUL TO JUMP HIGHER...

There you have it, in full.

spoke with Anton recently and all he had to say was watch this space, had a few trips over there and loved it.
Was planning a couple of trips over later in the year but may delay booking anything till there's a bit of feedback that's from real people.
Cracking venue, and if you have not been keep it on your bucket list👍👍

i agree, and must admit i feel its pretty harsh to see a company thats been set up nicely, providing great fishing trips to so many, suddenly close down! i do feel for Marc in that sense, however having been there in the early days when he ruthlessly went out his way to close down the company I was working for, i cant help but feel karma has had its say....

All this could have been resolved years ago, if he'd excepted another company could also opperate on Bin El Ouidane, but greed got in the way as he wanted soul rights to the fishing, which on 15,000 acres is a hell of alot of water for one company to have rights over.....

Seems he got out bidded at the last minute, when he felt no one knew the lease was up for grabs again, and as the game goes, the highest bidder won.............

So the old company is back in the game again, i'll be heading out soon to check over hows its being set up, and hopefully they'll go onto to providing some great trips for those wishing to head out there..

THE LEASE WILL NEXT BE RENEWED IN 9 YEARS TIME

EDIT One thing I noticed too !! it says a boat and sonar between two

this is something not acceptable to me as when we went we said we need a boat each and they just said yes of course
as picture the situation your pal is in the boat out in the lake depths a few hundred feet deep and 300 yards from the bank

gets in trouble your stuck on the bank unable to help him ?

Thanks Terry
What a shame they dont have the lovely cool tents I slept in last time ? a traditional bivvy would be a nightmare in that heat the lot we went with had all the right gear and was set up perfect loved the way you could move anytime and they would do it all for you hope these will get it right too

I've also been watching this location with interest over the past couple of years. And to be honest Sam's response sums it up and I wouldn't have blamed him if he had voiced his opinion more strongly.

With a water of this size, surely having more than one operator would be good for the customer and competition ? There is also the fact that in the past locals have harvested the fish for consumption and I know (no names mentioned) certain persons tried to do all they could to reduce this happening.

As said hopefully all parties that have an interest in this location (past and present) will understand that by working together in the future is the way to go....

No worries mate,

I'm planning another trip in November but want to speak to a few anglers fishing under the new regime between now and then.
I'm sure some of what's written on the website will be changed or altered according to their experiences, let's see.
Maybe it will be a seamless switch, in which case we will all be happy and ready to pay the pay to fish the stunning lake👍👍

Steady on Gerry give them a chance fella! Ha

I've been made the uk rep for this company, a position I would not put my name to if I wasn't overseeing how it's being set up.
I'm having the same tents made up so no fear mate you'll have your nice tent...and boats wise I'll be ordering the best boats I can find aswell as top end motors etc etc

As for two boats per pair, that was not the norm with Marc's company and most are happy to share, but for you Gerry I'm sure they'll arrange your own boat..

Once I'm confident all the gear is in place and the guides know the areas to put clients on things should be rolling nicely, this I expect tho won't be till autum.

Marc was asked if he would be happy to join forces and refused, this is a great shane as I've said before the lake is big enough to have 10 company's operating let alone two! Greed and pride can be a dangerous thing....

However the set up with these guys having such a beautiful hotel literally on the waters edge with swimming pools, bar etc etc will make the whole experience even better than before.

If I were you book the flight as early as possible

when I went I booked the flight 8 months before with British Airways and a month before I checked the prices and it had gone up to nearly 3 times what I paid

I noticed if you fly on a tuesday its a fraction of the price any other day

not sure if you can get a week on the lake tues to tues though ?

Hi Gareth,

You will be fine out there on your own providing you are confident in a boat and keep your wits about you when out on the water.
I was planning a trip on my own back in 2013 and end ended up going with a mate, which was fine, a bit easier on the mind when heading out in the boat at night😂😂😂
Otherwise as per Gs advice book your flight early, we are flying out in October from Gatwick with EasyJet and it cost just £65 each way, now you can't argue with that.👍👍
There's not a lot more to be said, its like fishing at home but warmer and there's more water in front of you, if you want any other info drop me a pm and I will happily go through it with you.

issues

unsure what you mean please elaborate? the set up now we've taken over is better than its been in 12 years,

The fishing has been off the scale for months, literally hundreds of 40's 50's coming out! All unknown fish!
The gear, including boats, sonars, motors, etc etc etc is all new gear ive carefully selected for a big water like this, all top quality..we have partnered up with Vortex boats, Lowrance and Nash tackle.
our hotel overlooking the lake, that people choose to stay in the first and last night is pretty impressive, we recently had moroccan royalty staying with us, its a stunning little paradise..
Our guides are some of the nicest characters youll ever meet that will go out there way to help everyone have a good trip. Unlike the last company our guides are carp anglers that watch the lake day and night..
I have a quality fishmeal bait being rolled fresh to peoples orders each day, this bait is smashing it..
New areas opening up, that have never seen an angler, 10,000 new acres to be precise, in an area ive dreamed of fishing for over 10 years now open.
We are heavily booked now till October, much of spring fully booked, with most guests booking return trips before theyve even left the lake...
Its deep winter at the moment and people are sat hauling in the sun in shorts and tshirt, so its all happy days....

we are producing monthly videos of the set up and the fish that are coming out, please have a look at the facebook page morocco carp

I guess you can't please everyone buddy

But for all top equipment provided, Vortex boats, lowrance sonars, 55lb thrust motors, fresh battery delivery each morning, all quality rods, bedchairs, tents, cooking equipment, food delivery three times a day with some of the best cuisine you'll ever eat whilst fishing, and guides running around doing all they can to help you get on fish, whilst your sat in the sun on one of the most stunning lakes worldwide enjoying uncaught big carp, all for £59 a day many would argue that is pretty good value for money.....

Considering many on here pay near on £30 a day to sit on some overcrowded uk puddle I think the £59 a day is almost too little fir the work that goes into setting this all up to have anglers fishing at the top of an African mountain with everything set up to perfection...

As for drinks we provide all drinks, the only drinks you would have to buy are beers which are sold for peanuts!

I agree and the cost is very comparable to a French trip and can easily work out cheaper some places in France the tolls and fuel and ferry costs can work out way more than the nice plane ride
And not forgetting the most important thing the chance to catch a huge uncaught fish in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the world
In my honest opinion every carp angler should bite the bullet and go fish this place a least once in their lives
I did and loved every second and constantly reliive it in my memory

completely agree, i would far rather hop on a plane and have a beer and a snooze than have to fight through the tunnel and then have to drive for several hours the other end. And pay through the nose for it.

Would you rather pay £35 a day to sit around a boring mud hole in the rain in the UK catching a 30lb fish someone caught a week earlier OR pay £60 a day to be abroad, in the sunshine, stunning views and excellent fishing. And the chance to have an uncaught 50+ thats immense. Makes most UK and French fishing look dull.
Just consider it a holiday.

I would happily pay £100 a day for good fishing and accomodation (and i do).
Get out there and enjoy it, since fishing abroad, i havent bothered over here anymore!!

It's a good question and one I ask myself

The answer is I'm still unsure what months are best!

The seasons are the same as ours, as in it's presently winter although it's sunny and 25 degrees..

March and April being spring are very popular, and over the years a large number of big hits of big fish have come during these months!i think this is due to snow melting on the higher atlas mountains and as this thaws and runs off into the lake the carp move into shallower bays whilst the water levels rise to soak up the sun and also graze on the grass that has been submerged by the rising water levels. Ive also noticed the carp spawning in this grass. Either way they love it.

Spawning wise the lake has simply baffled me! Due to water temps remaining relatively high all year round ive seen carp spawn in January April August and November! They don't seem to stop! Hence maybe the massive stock...

In the months of October and November last year we had over 800 fish caught! Two guys had over 100 fish i under a week with a number of 40s..

December fished amazingly, infact its now a month I'll be aiming for myself this year after seeing the results of the December just gone!

And so far in January we've had 4 50lb fish and a new lake record common of 62lb. All big fish that have never been seen before....
And a total of 170 fish this month..

It's fair to say most months fish well, however the summer months of June through to July are hot. The fishing remains the same but it's sunny and warm days and mild nights which many prefer, personally Ive always preferred the months of September through to May.

Having traveled much of the world this region of Morocco and its people has to be one of the safest and most welcoming places I've been.

If you are referring to the global issues of extremism groups there have been none recorded in morocco, I would say you are far more it risk walking through London than at the top of a beautiful valley in the Atlas Mountains where the only folk you'll come across are a few donkeys a couple hundred goats and a few wondering shepherds! The locals living on the shores of Bin El Ouidane are peaceful lovely people who have very little in life but would welcome you into their home and feed you!

Ive learnt much from the generosity and positivity of these people..fishing BEO is far more than just a carping holiday and fish....

Just a few pics of fish from the last month!
Having now access to the entire lake, the numbers of massive new fish turning up are amazing! New lake record common, and just hundreds of fish between 40lb - just under 70lb..mostly all uncaught wild fish

Nice one Ralph bud...
I mean this I honestly can't say there is a water anywhere in the world that is as wild and unique as this, with such a massive stock of uncaught totally stunning, wild, healthy big carp, with year round sun and the most breathtaking surroundings...

There are literally hundreds of thousands of big big fish that have still never seen a hook in BEO, which keeps the fishing interesting as you never have a clue what's next!

You'll love it bud

Same end definitely and also say way down judging by the water missing from the middle bit that looks like an island over the fellas left shoulder. Got to be a good 12ft down easily. Looks an amazing venue and must be a proper buzz not knowing what has picked up your hook bait each and every time the buzzer goes, that 4th picture down is a beast.

Here are just a few from the last few weeks, on average we are seeing over 500 fish caught a month, all new wild fish, and a good number of these over 40lb...

I popped out for a week to try out some new areas of the lake, areas that are now open for the first time ever.

Its impossible to know what is in Bin El Ouidane I doubt if we'll even scrape the surface, but the shear number of new fish well over 50lb popping up each month forever amazes me, my feelings are that on a lake of this size there are fish that have no need to have ever ventured into the areas that have been fished before meaning there are great chances of unknown massive fish that have just be living in areas of the lake that have never seen an angler....
I chose to explore some of these areas/unfished islands etc, here are just a few big commons I found...

Being sat behind rods on a lake where you have no idea whats next, has been my fascination with BEO...
And with a 93lb fish sadly found in the market 5 years ago, you cant help but wonder what else is in there of that size, the search tho will continue...........

Awesome pal . How are you doing cassien ? Drive and survive or are you going with cassien carp tours ?

Sambo , the results at BEO are phenomenal , but it's all the uncaught fish that makes it so appealing , when you go cassien you pretty much know what the limits are but BEO could throw something your not expecting. That and the fact lots of fish get caught , sounds perfect

I agree bro
But the way I view Cassien and Morocco is

Bin El Ouidane is what Cassien was in the 80s, it still has the mystery, the unknown, the adventure aswell as the breathtaking surroundings..

Cassien has to some extent lost the sense of the unknown, the fish are old and have been dragged out the lake hundreds of times over the years but man to be present on the banks of Cassien a water steeped in so much history Carp wise, makes it still such a special water and long may it remain this way..The carp are equally special despite them being known...

It will take many years to even scrape the surface of what BEO has hidden in its depths, and we will keep the numbers of anglers down each week, coupled with the fact it's not a European water where people can just drive and camp out, it will be impossible for the fish of BEO to ever become pressured like some of the wonderful public waters we've lost in Europe.

I love both waters for totally different reasons and would encourage anyone to one day just give them a try

nice one lads
As many of you know on here i hate the idea of pressured commercial french puddles just milking as much money as they can each week, overcrowded with anglers and with fish just over fed into bloated lumps..

We are keeping the numbers down on BEO to 20anglers a week, on 15,000acres, thats almost 750acres per angler

The fish look immaculate and the environment will remain untouched and stunning as a result of this minimal pressure....

that is our ethos

Should be interesting to see this, BEO is one of the most unique waters worldwide so it's nice to finally give a few people out there the chance to see it.
Korda are also revising in January so we are keen to see how they get on...

One thing I feel is worth a mention, this was filmed prior to us taking over last year.
It was filmed in March and we took over the license later that summer.
We have put so much into ensuring all our gear is quality, such as new lowrance DSI fishfindets, Vortex 3.0m Deluxe boats, New Vortex and Minn Kota 55lb thrust motors and a fresh battery change each morning!
All rods, slings, etc etc etc are all quality and gear made for big water carping..

One of the biggest issues with the previous company was their gear was old and *****! I had paid to fish with the previous company and was dissatisfied to say the least..

The number of anglers re-visiting BEO again now we have taken over is great to see, I put my name to all this and had a clear vision as to the level of service and quality of the gear I wanted..

So tonight's show should be good, but now we are running trips the actual set up will be even better than what it was when Tom, Ali etc were in the lake.
so happy days to all those looking to pop out.

We are already pretty much fully booked for most of this year and early 2018!
Jan Feb March and April this year produced an immense number of big uncaught fish, so 2018 is consequently filling up..

Great thanks mate.... you may be able to answer a couple of questions for me as you have been before.

My mate wants to go next year but is a little concerned about the trip from the airport. He has a dodgy back and gets car sick quite easy, we have recently been fishing some mountain lakes in Spain and the roads got pretty rough so we had to stop often.

What is the trip like from the airport.
What are the roads like.
Do they stop for a break.
Also mate I hear the lake is mostly commons, did you catch many mirrors.

Cheers

Cheers mate,
This time tomorrow I should be “walking on sunshine” as I head out from the airport into the hustle and bustle of Marrakech👍👍
We are on the early flight so the plan is to go straight to the lake, it seems a long time since the last visit, but the day is almost upon us.
I'm all packed 20kg to the gram, but I've ended up with the leads in my coat pockets, ridge monkey power vault in the hand luggage My mate Flip Flop Bob has repacked 4 times to get the weight down to 20kg

Can't get my head around it in the past we used to pack and 20kg was easy to do, now it's a nightmare, I suppose it's all the creature comforts we now take like spare pants that make the difference.
Will try to update as week goes on, can't to photos as I'm crap at that, but if we manage to squeak a few bars of African Gold out I will update the topic👍👍👍
In the mean time I'm off to have my last bacon sandwich for 11 days 😂😂🐖😂😂

Hi Phil,
Amended the post, we arrived Thursday pm (12th) and there have been 2 fish out since then(today 18th)clearly we can only go by Feedback from the guides, but they are good guys and have no reason to play tunes with the information being given.
Anyway it appears the same as I type today, fish can be seen in shoals on Sonar but near the surface, I have seen absolutely no fish deep on the Sonar, completely different from earlier trips.
It seems the whole lakes switched off, been speaking to Grant and Sam who like most anglers present are at a loss as to the reason, oh well that's fishing, it could all change with the blink of an eye, otherwise I shall sit back and enjoy the trip.
It's a cracking place to be even in an unusual quiet period, great food, atmosphere, views, sunshine, peace and quiet👍👍
Forgot to ask, where were you fishing?
Cheers

Well as we all know our fishing fortunes can change in the blink of an eye, Grant and Sam moved us down the far end of the lake towards the Dam where Grant Caught his first stunning BEO mirror, and WOW what a change of fortune.
Fish lumping all over the place last night, but all remained quiet on the rods, then this morning it kicked off, for the better I have to say, 3 runs, 1 dropped, but 2 stunning bars of Moroccan Gold in the net, they took the form of 2 beautiful lean Commons.
Just as I was beginning to doubt my wisdom in another trip to BEO, ability and sanity along comes the “Great Carp God”and changes everything, what a fickle lot we are.
2 days to go so still time for that elusive BEO Mirror.
Thanks to both Grant and Sam for their perseverance in putting us on the fish and a big thumbs up to the team on the ground who are looking after the best interests of we the ever expectant carp angler.

Afternoon all,
It's been one of those days, Flip Flop Bob & I have had 19 runs, landed 16 and lost 3 since 08.00.
BEO certainly put us to the test this morning, there was one moment where I had 3 runs at the same time,(well within 30 seconds of each other) if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I'd have been hard pressed to believe it.
Anyway the afternoon wind is banging through and the fish are presently giving us a rest, let's see what joys our last night on the Great BEO has in store for us.
Grinning like a Cheshire Cat is an understatement.

Evening all,
It was our last few hours on BEO this morning and as ever she kept us on the edge of our seats.
09.00 and two rods were away within a few seconds of each other, landed 2 more pristine commons that battled every inch of the way.
So we came away with 21 fish, every one a gem, well more a bar of Moroccan Gold, but that's just splitting hairs.
Will I be coming back, mmmmmmm, I thought about it for a nano second before speaking to Sam/Grant re dates for spring 2018 so watch this space.
I'm not able to post photos on hear(too techi)but happy to share them via mail or WhatsApp, just drop me a line/pm

Hi mate,

No trouble with mozzies, however there are plenty of tiny flies about if you put your head torch on when wading through the mud at night to land a fish.
Otherwise this time a pretty bug free zone.

Cheers Andy,

It was probably the toughest but most rewarding trip I have had to BEO, just getting ready to book my next trip back out there for late spring 2018.
It's a fantastic place, stunning scenery, beautiful fish, brilliant team on the ground and lovely local people.
All in all I can't think of a good reason not to go back.

Hi there,
Yes Arjan and his friend dropped into the same swim we were fishing and the fish continued feeding, so they are in the right place👍👍
Really hope they get a few of the big girls drop into the area before they head off home.

Hi Wayne,

At BEO I really would have to say It's not really the size that matters, when you are out there it's more the fact you are able to catch fish that have probably never been hooked before.
I didn't have any real lumps as you put it, but every one I did land was pristine, fought like a demon and took all of our guile and cunning to catch this time around.
I can assure you most people going to BEO are there for more than the carp, it's the atmosphere, scenery, local people and absolute peace and quiet you experience during your stay, 15000 acres of water, sun, sand, mud and of course the carp.
The place gets under your skin, and if you enjoy a challenge it will draw you back time and time again, every trip a little different to the last, all in all it is a magical destination and one I would thoroughly recommend to any angler up for the challenge.
All the best

Plenty of previous captured fish go missing for years.
It isn't really a water where you can target the big fish specifically.
There are no big mug ‘tetra' fish chained to the ‘hot swim' like Uk or French commercials.

The beauty is when the average size of what you are catching changes for the bigger, your location is now sorted, now work it for every bite until they move off again!
Those fish are catchable, and the next one could be really special big bar of gold, or a mini bar of gold, or a priceless heavy scaled mirror

Nicely put
Something I have found and been doing for many years and most certainly not on a commercial ,and neither with guides (each to there own )
The lake does look stunning , apart from what seems to be a lack of tree cover lol , and I don't believe that big fish can't be targeted ,its just harder when you can't get on the water often .

I will add my reference to using guides is not a dig , if that's the only way you can get on the water ,then you do what you have to , not for me though .

I understand exactly what you mean Rivers.
Pretty much all my fish over several trips in the early days were on maize, now with the bookies

You can choose to take in everything the guide/s may or may not tell you, or work things out for yourself, which I like to do.
But for the nice gear supplied and the guides/helpers & logistics of moving swims around the lake, it is nice to choose an area and then graft away at it, more pleasing that way.

We loved the place even though our week was very slow. They way the guides were, the service, the hotel everything was brilliant. The lake is barren but beautiful and the fish are mint! I can imagine it's epic when they are having it, reminds me of the st Lawrence a few years ago when you hoped your other rod didn't go because you can't play two high speed reel emptying carp at the same time!! I will return for sure. The only down side I can see is all the netting that goes on by the locals. I dread to think of the carp they catch and sell. But I guess it's their livelyhood and they have been doing for years. Big old chunk of water and she can be savage at times......just how we like it though!

Without the guides at Raduta I would have been floundering in the dark...And without your 'guidance' on the Lot, Paul, the same would have applied. We are all guided in different ways and I see no shame in accepting all the help I can get!

as I said each to there own Ken , I can see why they are used on far off waters , for tackle ,bait etc , it makes sense , but it's not for me , if. I had the funds and the time ,I would want to do it on my own , but that's the way I am ,and that's why I won't fish those waters (unless I get a lottery win ) I'm certainly not looking down my nose at those that do choose to be guided , it's there holiday and good luck (got that Sam )
I don't think very favourably about using guides on rivers in France though

Hello chaps
Firstly great fishing Tel, so chuffed you guys managed a few fish it's been tuff going the last few weeks so well done!

All this talk of guides makes me chuckle, I think the term 'Guide' is being misused slightly, the guys we have working on the lake each day are simply there to make it possible for people to fish this challenging and immense lake, in as much comfort and safety as possible, the environment and climate of BEO is nothing like you'd find in Europe so to draw comparisons to what you've experienced in Europe whilst carping without a 'guide' is I'm afraid unrealistic, no matter whether it's the orient in mud and wind ( a water I regard as being tuff) or any other hard continental water, BEO is still a major challenge both physically and mentally, and we have staff on the lake to make sure those that fish it are kept an eye on and are safe to enjoy the fishing and get the most out of the adventure.

As Ive stated before should anyone wish to try and drive into morocco with their own gear in a van, including boats, motors, batteries, hundreds of kilos of bait, etc etc to last a session, then you really are welcome to give it a bash, just getting into morocco and past boarder control with a van of fishing gear is near in impossible these days, then a drive from Tangier to BEO is one hell of trip, then the reality of keeping fresh food, batteries charged, remaining in good health, finding licenses and absolutely everything else that goes into a session on a big water like BEO is no easy task, morocco is nothing like Europe, everything is hard work even the smallest of tasks, life is not easy out there especially at the top of a North African mountain, in the sun and altitude.

So this attitude that it's not worthy of merit to have a guide, is a bit ott! Our guys on the lake work like crazy in some demanding conditions, to keep anglers fishing this very special place..
If you think its a case of our guides putting you on fish and wiping your arse as you just sit back and reel them in, then you've got it all very wrong, I'd be a rich man if it was that easy...

Like the thousands that climb Everest each year, the climb would not be possible without the help from local Sherpas, they make the climb possible, so equally our guides are just making the fishing possible on BEO, and there is not a single part of that, that warrants any negativity.

See some of you soon, and happy fishing to the rest of you

OK my last post on this , because quite frankly your over reacting Sam , the fact you PM me complaining , then Ken makes his post lol
Not once have I suggested that those fish the lads have caught have no merit , I wouldn't post such thing , I made it clear I understood why you use guides for such a water , and that I would not ,so would not fish such a water , my choice is it not ? Does that mean I think there is no merit lol, just to suffer the heat and lack of trees and bloody flying , gives it merit , if thats what the guys are looking for ? Personally I think merit is probably the last thing the guys who fish it ,think about , something different and an adventure must be quite high I guess ,
If however anyone that has been and posted on here is offended by anything I seem to have said ,then I apologise .
Peace and love

To be honest Paul I have read your posts and I personally don't see any thing wrong with them and I certainly would not have taken offence to them either.
It's certainly a place I would like to fish and I think for me a guide would be important on such a vast lake for me in my opinion. Many uncaught fish regardless of size is becoming very hard now days.

Im with you on this Sam the term 'Guide' is being misused and possibly miss understood

and for people that havent been there it would be easy to get the wrong idea

these folks just help with the logistics bring you food put tents up etc

they dont tell you where or how to fish in any way shape or form just in case people are getting confused
although Im guessing if you wanted help in that direction they would help ?

when I fished it I decided to move twice during my trip and I decided where and when I wanted to move these guys just did the carrying I decided what bait I wanted to use etc

I must say ANYONE thats keen on carp, fishing should consider going to this amazing location at least once in their lifetime trust me the memories will last you a lifetime and cost wise its often CHEAPER than a french trip

Been a bit of interest in our trip so here is a few pics and a video to hopefully share some of the experience. We knew in the build up to the trip it wasn't as prolific as it can be but a few where still coming out and with a bit of graft and some luck we figured we could still bag a few. The trip as a whole was excellent and would like to thank Sam and the guys on the ground at BEO for there support and generally being all round top lads with regards to planning, logistics etc. Hope to see you again early 2018

The camp

Little Ralphy the pet dog

Daily boat ops although as the trip moved on it became clear that they where happily taken baits that had been sat in the mud 36-48 hours

Tiger nuts accounting for all of the fish bar one, we sacrifed a lot of kit and took 10kg with us.

Toilet with a view !

Sunset over the camp

 My mirror

Ralphys Mirror (and the fish of the trip !)

My common

Boat ride home

Final night beers at the hotel

Last night in the hotel with the BEO crew

Rocky the guard dog sleeping on shift as we left the hotel at 3am for Marrakech

Here is a you tube video of our swim, showing access to rods etc, with the water so low it was tricky and the mud 3ft deep in places at the waters edge. We built a couple of piers to allow us better access to rods/boat. Adapt or die as they say !

Good morning all,

Looks like you had a good time, and as ever the team on the ground there did in a grand job looking after you.
Scenery, food, friendship and fish all make it a place you get drawn back to time and time again, really pleased you had one of those stunning mirrors to keep you wanting more, I've yet to manage one of those and I'm hoping April will be my time👍
All in all well done and thanks for sharing the details with the forum, I'm sure there will be other members that have been watching and waiting for the positive feedback on that great place BEO👍

Big ones......
By EuroAqua standards these may not be deemed as big ones to some of you guys, these fish are all wild uncaught fish that have grown on naturals or snails to be more precise, as many who have fished BEO know, there is far more to fishing a unique wild water as this, than just looking for big carp, if it's big 100lb carp your after there are plenty of commercials to cater for that, each to their own.....

Although we've had fish to 93lb caught in nets on BEO, and I'm sure there are a few massive uncaught fish this size still in there, we tend to fish it for the thrill and rare opportunity to catch uncaught wild healthy carp, the size of these fish seems almost irrelevant it's more about the unknown and the adventure and the incredible setting and beautiful carp that makes it's so special.

However the number of fish we have over 40lb -60lb these days is immense,
Here are just some 40s from the last few weeks to 52lb

Not since crazy Hungarians started diggings ponds and feeding carp sickening amounts of bait till they bloat up and reach 100lbs, 40s arent what they once were

The number of enquiries we get from lads asking for guaranteed 70lb 80lb etc carp, is amazing, I politely suggest that maybe they've got the wrong attitude for a lake like BEO!
I recognise that the international carp world, has very much fallen victim to the obsession of size, and really big by today's standards is any anything between 80-100lb that's what people want, that's what a big carp is today.....

But a wild 40 is still to me bloody massive.......

I'm afraidthe size thing has been going on for a long time , to where we are now , people asking Sam about 80s , nearly 20 years ago I caught my first 40 from a river , obviously I was buzzing , when I finished and pulled into Calais ,a group of anglers pulled up behind me , so we get chatting (as we do ) about what we have caught , I excitedly say I had caught my first 40 ,
Then it happens ,
We had dozen 40s this week and a few 50s etc as if my solitary 40 ment nothing , I just turned around and went back to my motor lol
I like big fish ,but you can't put a price on a good adventure in great surroundings ,
All though, I still think BEO could do with some trees

What a fish!, and i'm liking those shorts

Are the majority of the photos filtered, because it's so bright, with little cover there?

Do anglers still have to use the tackle provided, and not their own?

All this concern for filtered images is amusing?
most of what you see today in film, tv, press, fashion, tourism, sport, art infact just about anything that is used commercially online or in print would have gone through a digital editing process...

Believe it or not, on BEO the sky often is that blue! The rich bright red clay ground really can look that red! And the water is actually that turquoise......the sun does actually shine and the fish do tend to look golden lol

Some Photos we are sent are edited to simply sharpen the structure, and if too bright due to the sun that maybe edited slightly to focus more on the fish, nothing new in that lads, I can assure you every photo you see these days of carp used to sell products or used in any commercial way would have had some digital enhancement, please there is nothing new or wrong in that...

That's the world we live in today, let's get on with it, whether you guys on here would edit a photo or not.

Similar to the lovely Terry Hearn video thread, there's way too much nitpicking on this forum, people looking for the smallest of things to pick away at, which is a great shame..

Be lucky all and once again Terry, Dean Ralph etc
Lovely to get to know a few of you on BEO and well done to you all

To be honest, i wasn't having a dig, or nit picking, i was asking genuine questions.

I think the trouble with this forum, if there is any, is oversensitive types, getting touchy about anything they see questioned.

For what it's worth, i think the majority of the fish pics posted from your place are lovely, the fish are mostly lookers, one or two munters, but that's to be expected, you get that anywhere.

Anyway, just genuine questions, sorry you lost your temper (again) 68 FA4 B94 AD28 4156 B9 A6 4 B5 CF7636800

I'm sorry that wasn't entirely directed at you it's previous comments that I've read that were written purely to sound negative I understand yours was most likely a genuine question and fair play, I just answered it as I see it.

As for sensitive types, lol maybe I am or maybe I'm just overly passionate about topics I feel strongly about, as a result I realise the forum isn't for me these days, hence why I try to stay off here but on a thread like this that concerns BEO occasionally I'll post when I feel I should..

I'm the meantime I'll leave the forum to get on with it......

Fair enough Sam, as i say they were genuine questions.

I come on here primarily because of my love of carp angling, like many others. So, i appreciate the good things in the carp scene, whether that be the fish, the venue, or tackle etc.
So those are the things of real interest to me. I love the banter, and a giggle on here very much too.
I also try my best to help people out, i'm sure a good few members would confirm this.

The arguing or politics is what happens on a lot of forums. I know this too well as i used run a couple.
You might see some stuff as nit picking, others may see it as something for discussion?
Like the Terry Hearn stuff, i have fished with, and know a lot of well known anglers, and most of them, i have respect for, as anglers, and people. I don't always agree with how they fish though, or some of their tactics. And they may think the same about me?

That's not nit picking, the respect is still there regardless. One of my sons works for me, he is very good at his job, and i get regular compliments about him and how he works. He and i both do a great job but, differently.
We sometimes mention certain things to each other about which way is best, or nit pick if you like?
We never argue about it though, as all said and done, we have our own ways, and they work for us.
Fishings's the same isn't it?

So, i try and focus on the important things here, which are, just what i mentioned, the fish, photos etc, venues and info, and tackle.

Sometimes along the way, people will argue here but, the fact that this forum still ticks along nicely after all these years, after various menbers have come and gone, says a lot i think you'll agree?

You and i have had more than one or two ding dongs but, that doesn't mean i can't appreciate a great venue and great fish etc, i'm really not that shallow.

I think the photos and fish at your place are superb, and, i often gaize and admire the photos in this thread. What genuine carp angler wouldn't?

As i said, just some genuine questions, out of interest.

That's all

The pics have the look of colour enhancement but that's what advertisers do,its all about the product.
Generally speaking, bright sunlight and sunny, clear skies are rubbish for photography, hence the need for photoshopping pictures. Otherwise the pics come out flat and dull.
Still, can't knock paid for advertisers, it also helps with forum costs.

Hope your well

Thanks mate, right now it's a tuff old place up there in the Atlas Mountains in winter, one min it's dry and sunny the next it's heavy snow, but all the anglers and guides are getting on with it and some mega fish are coming out for people's efforts..

It's a tuff old wild water, and a real adventure, not everyone's cup of tea but for those who Ike to explore something a little different Bin El Ouidane is one unique place!

Sam,

Well my Australian adventure has turned into what can only be described as a carping nightmare, basically 5 years wasted. The meth explosion has made the banks as fishable as oxford street at chucking out time on a Friday night and they started releasing the KHV virus last year.
Secretive isn't the word for it, almost all the dedicated guys I know hardly talk to each other about fishing now and the big fish rumours are rife with bull****. Cant wait to get back to Eastern Europe and continue my original journey.

Winter there sounds right up my street and I will definitely be visiting you at some point

Really glad you're doing well

Best

Sounds pretty tuff mate, but it's still a chapter in your fishing whether it's gone to plan or not, fair play!
would love to see a big Aussie carp one day tho, must be one of two out there.

Mexico is my next stop, some very big wild carp out there in some incredible remote waters, I'll be searching out there this year...
Carping alongside Mexican Cartel should be interesting....

Keep up the hunt Jon and best wishes

Back saturday afternoon mate, no fish hammered by the weather, 3 camp moves in 3 days due to some of the fastest moving water levels i have ever seen. Difficult conditions for the boat for the first few days but all worked hard against the elements and trying to bag one.

Still madly in love with the place and plan to.head back in October.

Shouts to the Ralphster aka dusk till dawn and Bondy for getting stuck in and keeping the moral high in **** conditions.

I can put some pics up if any interest but all scenics unfortunatley

Quick you tube vid of the first swim, if you note the distance of the water to the camp, the night before (12 hours) we had dragged the camp back approx 25 meters from the waters edge at it came up that fast overnight.

Sympathies BW and Malph. It's a bastaard when you get pissed on from a great height. I went to St Cassien in 2000 and had to move the bivvy back three times. Ended up above the normal water level and still got flooded out. The water was gushing through the pipes that drain the hills and the road a good twenty feet before hitting the deck. Anyone who has seen the size of the bore on those pipes (they must be three feet in diameter) will know just how much water was flowing through them.

Still nil desperandum and all that. Bet you are undeterred and are going back.

It's been a great trip for me, plenty of weather stuck on top of Yuri Island, it's certainly not for the feint hearted😂😂
Still it seems to have calmed down a bit now and I'm enjoying the sun with 14 bars of Moroccan gold under my belt👍👍 so far.
Cheers to James, Grant, Sam and the local team for their help and support, 3 nights to go so that elusive BEO Mirror may well pick up one of my baits yet, already planning the next trip and this ones probably got a few surprises left in it yet.

Well the Mirrors eluded me again, but 18 Commons to just over 20kg and a tench has seen me heading back to Marrakech a happy chappy.
Every single one of them bought a smile to my face and a real sense of achievement at getting a result, all in all another fantastic trip to our Great Lake BE0.

Got to say it fought like a beast and certainly gave me a run for my money, water where the main battle happened after initial pick up was 16 metres deep so it was a fantastic opportunity to let her rip in open water.

Well I've taken the plunge, as travelling becomes less restrictive and accessible to all I'm booked to head back to the Great BEO end of March 2022.
During lockdown and subsequent lost 18months I've browsed memories and photos of my times out there, almost wishing my time away, then bang, booked the dates and flights in a matter of hours and ready to roll.
Seems a long way off but I'm already on countdown.
I'm hoping 2022 will see me break my duck for the elusive BEO Plated Mirror, sooner or later one must grace my net 😂😂😂😂😂in the meantime back to photos, videos and memories of what's to come👍👍👍👍👍

Wishing you luck, Tel. If I were ten years younger, I'd be going too. Time takes its toll, however, and my body is not now up for the rigours of fishing out there. Same goes for Sarulesti. Too much survival and not enough comfort for my tired old bod!

Hi Ken,
I hit 60 this year and had my share of health issues the last couple of years, maybe Covid came at the right time for me😂😂
Not fished Raduta since 98/99 seems a life time ago, now that really was a place of it's time, although I see people are doing well there now, I'm not sure it will be back to it's former glory in my life time.
BEO can be fished from the Hotel area in relative comfort, but as I'm sure you more than most appropriate it's not like dropping in on your local lake with everything to hand, it is however a beautiful and stunning place to spend a few days far away from the madding crowd that is our world.

Hi there,
Price depends on how long you stay as the price is per day, easiest way to get a price is to use the website and put in everything you want, in reality I've had French trips that cost more per day all in than fishing BEO.
Includes all your food, rods, Bivvy, bed chair, rods boat etc.
Flights from London are around £150 return or less

http://morocco-carp.com/en/index.php/reservation

Drop me a pm if you want any additional info.
Cheers

Hard going at the moment.
Lots of rain and plenty of clay but alas no fish as of yet, that said the peace and tranquility here are really 2nd to none, the silence can be deafening.
Water levels still way on down, moved this morning back down the lake to the other side of Agenbou near to the hotel, hopefully a change of area will see a change of luck for me.

Hi there,
As ever it was an absolutely fantastic trip, in the face of adversity I winkled a few out.
I was well looked after, great food, advice and such a beautiful place to while away your days in peace and solitude.
Getting ready to book again for 2023👍👍

Anybody got a trip booked? Think it's time for no.4 for me next year, tempted for winter time as I don't want to wait to long, but I do like the good weather!
