Seems absolutely spot on. 12.5kg no presoaking, bought to the boil and launched into a cheap coolbox. Next morning perfectly usable hemp.
Taken out on the boat and tipped over the edge. I'll know if the carp find it acceptable if they clear a hole in the solid weed for me or not lol.

I bought a 15kg sack of copdock mill from my local farm supply shop for about £33. Soaked for 24 hours and boiled for 30 minutes it splits nicely and working nicely

I had 50kg of hemp delivered from Food4wildbirds yesterday, £80 all in.
It arrived in 12.55kg bags, which is actually quite convenient.
I'll buck the trend of this thread and say that I'm really not fussy about the hemp I use for carp fishing, I've honestly never noticed any difference in results, if I were roach fishing I would definitely be more fussy though.

Just looked on Hinders website, looks a decent amount of stock at good prices.

Do you buy the Chinese hemp?

Obviously not, I've never had a bad batch from there, but had several bad batches from other places, I don't know where they source it but it's always been good. If you want to buy cheap stuff then go and buy it that's your choice, I prefer to use the best hemp I can buy and that's from hinders.

They don't grow it themselves though do they so it must be the same as some others?

having not used hemp in the good old days have people noticed carp eat it with less gusto and its less effective than it used to be?

Too be fair one batch from a supplier could be totally different to the next, its probably stored in a barn for years prior to bagging up.

I completely agree with this, never scrimp on hemp and tigers. I always get my hemp and tigers from hinders, you really can tell the difference, plus Steve always has offers and codes on for discount on the FB page, it's great stuff and worth the extra money, used them for years 👍
