hi all has anyone used baitworks pro flow boilies? , i know there dedicated for barbel but i thiking the carp would love them

If they work for barbel for they will work for carp and vice versa.

I use them for barbel and think they are fantastic . I would 100% use them for Carp as well .

I'd say with the quality of the ingredients in these baits. High quality milks Casiens etc. There probably as close to a old school HNV bait as you are likely to get. Expensive, granted.. but you won't need a lot of them..

just purchased 5kg i will let you know how i get on

I started using PF last year. Mainly for large river barbelling. The freezer boilies are as stated, not a hard boilie. They freeze well and can be re-frozen which I assume is due to them not containing eggs (is that albumin?).

They do make a hard hooker which seems a bit more potent and is good for rivers with Crays in. A lot of my winter fishing is done with paste, and I had a nightmare trying to make it from the 400g cork ball/paste pot. Mixing with water left me with the stickiest mess since the work sticky was invented. A mate also had the same problem.

I've had a chat with 'my' AI bot and it tells me the problem occurs because the 'thirsty milk proteins and marine extracts' need time to absorb the moisture and become fully hydrated.
Shame I didn't ask it last year as I reverted back to my usual John Baker paste mix in frustration.

Anyhow, the bait definitely works for barbel so I can't see why it wouldn't be a good cold water bait for carp. Bream and chub do like it too though, so.... 😭

Why did you need to mix the paste with water?? The stickiness of the paste probably comes from the inclusion of soluble milks like Sodium Casienate.😁

Sorry, didn't make that clear. It's a dry base mix that is mixed with water rather than eggs

The original richworth pop up mix was supposed to be mixed with water but the texture was far too crumbly, so i mixed with eggs and it was perfect.

Have you asked baitworks for advice, sod Ai Baits, never heard of them 😂

I can't see why I should use eggs if the mix doesn't require them. I'm pretty sure the point of no eggs is to reduce the amount of fat in the end product and thereby making it more water Soluble. The advantage of that is allowing the attractants within the bait to disperse more effectively into the flow.

A mate who initially had the issue, overcame it eventually and produced some lovely smooth paste just using water. He mixed some on the bank too, using river water. I probably (do) need more patience. I am crap in the kitchen and that doesn't help 😂

Yep, your boilies will know what the Carp want before they do, they'll auto arrange themselves to lead the Carp directly (or covertly) to your bait and in future releases of AiB will be able to mimick the taste of that carps preferred flavour 😂

....but bait boats will still be fair game 🤣👍

They're also thinking of using a localised quick release ionotropic glutamate blocker in the bait which will act on its Lateral Pallium, temporarily shutting down its neural communication, so it doesn't associate it's location or sensory inputs with danger, then it'll happily trough on any old tat....so AiB tells me 🤔...all true obviously...Derry

I gave the cork ball/paste pot basemix a go today.

I think the issue previously was one of patience, or lack of, and too much water. Around 35 ml per 100g of basemix is just right. As was leaving the rough mix in a sealed plastic bag for 10 minutes, before a quick knead and rolling.

So, for anyone who wants to give it a go, the key is adding a small amount of water in gradual steps definitely works with this basemix.
