Anybody know what the current wait is for membership?

On this years rejoining form I think it said it was around 10 years. Might have been more, my memory isn’t what it used to be 😢
If I can dig form out later I will update the thread. Obviously that figure would have been a guesstimate based on their normal drop out rates per year

Karlos is right. 10 plus year wait. Bit shorter i believe if you live in the Dirtford area.
This seems to be the norm these days with a lot of clubs.. which is a shame..🙁

I haven't been a member for many years but if you had a Dartford postcode it would only be a season. 😱

I've been a DDAPS member since 1985 (when I was 15!), and I recall the waiting list back then was about 6-7 years, but as mentioned if you had a DA postcode you usually got in within a year. I lived in Orpington at the time, but my Geography teacher at school lived on the main road above Kirby, and very kindly let me use his address, so I got in straight away.
It should be mentioned the lakes along the valley were all very popular at that time, and at the forefront of how carp fishing was expanding rapidly, and other areas / lakes around the country were still somewhat under the radar.
As things evolved in the mid-late 90's, the waiting list went right down, and I think people were getting in within a year or two - you could actually turn up on a Friday night and get a swim!
And now it seems to have gone full circle again with a 10 year waiting list, which I guess must be driven by some extent to glory hunters wanting to have a go on Bennetts. A shame for anyone wanting to join just for some local fishing, especially if non-carp.
