Since last few weeks I tried many combination to get a gingerbread homemade boilies (blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, green anise, cardamamon) but without great success, wasnt the expected result 😢

For now I'm checking a new Spice combo : black pepper and nutmeg. Made some tests yesterday and both spices blend very well together, the nutmeger add more strenght to the BP

Any of you already play with these spices on a mix ?
I was thinking to include 35gr of ground black pepper and 15gr of nutmeg for 1kg of dry mix. I also have both on essentiel oil

Any thought ? 🙏

I rate the blend, but would start with lower concentration: 15gram of black pepper and 5g of nutmeg

This afternoon I thought about reducing BP to 20gr and nutmeg to 10ge

I'll let you know with my first small batch with 35gr and 15gr and i'll try a 2nd batch with lower inclusion

Just made the paste with half recipe and 2 drops of nutmeg EO
I'll try to roll it tomorrow

That's a basic recipe with fishmeal (squid), if good results I'll share it on this thread

I use the combo cinnamon ginger nutmeg in the most successful baits I'd made in a ratio of 5 gr. for every Spice.
I came up with the recipe in 2003 and i caught carp with it everywhere i fished from the little intimate estate lake to the great expanse of water, Just Yesterday i had a 46 lbs and something (21 kg) with it, i rate it very well, specially during long baiting campaign. Obviously there are other ingredients that make it a good bait not only the Spice mix.

I have a recipe with chilli (35gr) and cinnnamon (15gr) that gave me decents results

So you are using 5gr of each (cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg), which give a total of 15gr for 1kg of dry mix ?

The additive alongside cream flavour that goes into Mike Willmotts Essential baits Salami cream bait. Is basically a combination of the additives you mention and a few more. Mike knows his baits.😀

Made full batch this morning
I reduce BP to 30gr and raise nutmeg to 20gr, which give a better nutty orientation that I was looking for
Lovely smell in the kitchen this morning if you omit the squid meal
Wifey won't agree about "lovely" 😂

imgbb usually works, but sometimes there is an issue where it doesn't like serving images to/from different countries.

There's a camera icon if you edit the post, use that to upload you photo into CarpForum and it inserts the required image code into your message for you 👍
