What a good long range head torch to get ?
I noticed when casting at more than 4 wraps I couldn’t see where I was casting :(

May be worth having a separate torch for this, i hate having a headtorch on when casting as it reflects off the rod and reel etc.

I've found this one brilliant. Originally got it for work .
The spotlight has great range and the band light is ideal for a bivvy light and when dealing with fish and as a backlight for night shots .

I have the one with black/green headband (vision ultra) since 2021 and use it a lot; it still works perfectly.

Have a look at Nitecore I was introduced to them here many monks ago and for me I much prefer this over the more expensive ones I’ve had before including petzl, led lenser that cost a lot more and haven’t performed as well

I'm also not fond of the headlight reflecting off the blank/reel. It also means the beam moves around a lot as you need to look around.
I bought one of these ages ago and it can go into a bankstick at the front of the swim. You then point it at the far bank / treeline / pads / whatever and it lights it up nicely, no wobbling, no breath/steam from breathing (in winter) reflecting the light back in your eyes.
You can just focus on the cast.

p.s. I'm not a RidgeMonkey fan, most of the stuff I have had from them is pants. This light was OK though

Ah those distant days when you'd get yelled at for daring to turn on a tiny dim torch to tie a hook on. Now it's acceptable to shine bright lights across the lake while you cast. How times change.
Doesn’t everyone just turn their headtorch off, let their eyes adjust and hope for the best? Flick it back on to see the rings if it’s still enough for it.
