My old clipper finally packed up. Can see loads of options for the wind proof jet type lighters.

Any stand out as a better than others?

I went back to a normal flame lighter as got sick of melting my fingers. Always found the flame hard to see on the jet ones hence the burns and they burn you super quick.

I'll bare that in mind, but recently I seem to be doing as much damage to me and my rigs with a yellow flame with only the slightest of wind!

Carplife do one if you want a carpy one

Yeah, the Carplife ones are decent and they even work after going in the washer for a rinse. Only damage was the lid came off.

Yes that is the downside, needs to be calm and no wind or put your back to the wind.

The silly expensive Primus one with the cap you can fill it up from your stove gas.
Really good and you can set fire to anything within 20 yards....

I use a Soto extendable, don't get my fingers burnt lighting under pots
They also do one which will convert standard lighters to jet iirc

TorJet windproof lighter. Can get 5 of them for about £4 off amazon.
They are also refillable. Always handy having a few to hand incase you lose one.

Yup I can't see the point in paying any more for something to blob a knot or light a stove.
