Hi, can someone help recommend a fishery. I'm taking my brother who hasn't fished for 10years. He used to fish all the time but 10years is a long old time so I don't want anywhere to difficult
I was initially thinking lake exclusive but most places are a bit more on the difficult side . I want him to get a bend in the rod. If it's a day ticket then I'm not bothered if it's expensive but I would want the pegs to be nice and spread out and the venue to have nice fish in it not one of these place were the carps mouths are ripped to bits with a million pegs and argos tents that's my worst nightmare
So essentially around 2 to 3 hours from lands, lake exclusive or day ticket, not.to difficult I.e good head of fish to go at, size wise obviously there won't be 30s crawling up the line but just nice looking fish would be great, the lake not to be crammed with pegs, I've seen some day tickets that are 2 acres and have over 10 pegs

You could try Lakemore Fisheries in Crewe. Really nice place, well spaced pegs.

Moss nook, Cudmore and Clearwater are some decent ones in the nw. Never been myself but seen some nice carp from all of them. Shakerly mere is also worth a look might be abit tricky but if you can get on them there not to hard to catch.

I'd want some runs and personally wouldn't do Shakerley. It is producing fish and regularly but 10 years out I'd want more sport.
Baden Hall have converted one of their other polls onto a Carp water, can't remember which one it is, but catch reports are good. It'd also give you the option to try Main Pool and the other 1.
There's also a place in Irlam that's gone very quiet, is it Moss Farm. Im not even sure its a day ticket, you'd need to check.

Never been to Shakerly myself just seen the catch repots on Facebook thought it might have been worth a look even as a backup. Baden middle pool is a brilliant runs water through the summer there like Piranhas on floaters.

Norton Disney probably within range,can be busy (better midweek)but pegs fairly well spaced out.

What is norton Disney actually like? Obviously the korda films make it look great and they are pulling out 30s for fun. Under no illusion it's not an easy place but some of the fish do look nice.
Are the lakes still all a bit baron and open the the elements?

Only fished it once about 18 months ago and yes was a bit barren looking but it was Feb, seemed to have a fair bit of planting done so may have grown on a bit now.
As per your op within 2-3 hours,good head of fish, some nice looking fish,not shoulder to shoulder pegs.
No pre booking.jist turn up on the day if I remember website has up to date swim availability .

Yes rules say use their nets and mats etc. As much i don't particularly like using fishery equipment as its not usually the best kit especially the net poles. If I owned a day ticket I would have the same rule, got no idea where people have fished previously or if their nets have been dried properly, don't think them dips work well either
Be good if they let you use you own net pole , I'd imagine the ones you have to use bend like a match rod

I have no problem using lake supplied stuff if it protects my club lakes getting anything.
And it save me carrying mine lol

When I was at Norton Disney the the stuff they supplied was of good robust quality.i expected basic entry level korda stuff but seemed to me like it was made for purpose ie built to last constant use by anglers who may not take the best care of it
