Agreed, been very quiet for a long while, great to hear.
I wish they'd do upgrades like more powerful motors, doubt I'd of sold my HD Microcat if it turned better and was a little faster, shame really.
Never had a fault with my AT boats in near 20 years and my Cat 3 was badly abused.

Yes agree if they can regain some of their previous market share with a 'reliable' UK boat thats fully pimpable (motors / lithium batts / decent sonar & gps) in a compact but stable boat (sorry but microcats were just silly big and heavy IMO) that would be interesting!

You're not wrong re the Microcat size but when it came out there was virtually no alternative, and there were always smaller versions from AT.
Considering 'greed' has been levelled at Mr Fry in the past, it's quite unbelievable how he dropped the ball so badly and let the likes of CL make all that money. He clearly thought his product needed no upgrading, how wrong he was, imo.

I witnessed two of the original microcats sinking when they'd first been released - that was enough to put me off! Either way they had absolutely cornered the market and the MCat was the Rolls Royce of boats but a bit like Prestige didn't move with the times / tech etc. Still love my SB3 and the AT will need to be a decent boat to tempt me!

Imagine how those with the all singing/dancing/sinking RT7s feel
Even though the MCat was o.k it still had design flaws AT could have sorted, like the battery comps and leaky buttons. I've a picture of my Mk3 somewhere, it's more electrical tape than boat but it could porpoise like a goodun once properly sealed up, shame it washed the load out before getting to target...hey ho

Prob was they sat too low on the water line - the assumption being that having a stealthy profile actually matters in a bait boat - would have been better with deeper keels! Did and still does look like a sports car tbf - one with a v low splitter that you scrape on the drive!

They are under new ownership and seem to be in the process of turning the company in the right direction.
They are offering lots of upgrades in-house as apposed to many folk went to some of the established companies out there to get things fixed, modified etc, I went that route and happy with the work done.
Yep microcat is a big boat the procat ancient the technicat probably the best boat they made though today it seems there is interest in smaller boats.
You can pay very little today for a reasonable specc'd boat albeit from China.
With AT them being British made perhaps it will help, time will tell.
Edit just read in the comments they may make them in China to keep the costs down.
