I've recently bought some reels second hand, and they've come loaded with Fox Exocet 15lb line...

It looks in decent CI dirion and had a day session on it, but was wondering does the colour actually matter? The blurb on Fox's site says orange is one of first colours to disappear in water.
In trying to stack the odds in my favour - should I re/spool just in case, or is consensus it doesn't matter, and with lime lay and alt ideas, I can mitigate the colour?

I currently use Asso Hard Skin 15lb Orange and never had an issue.
I do use 50cm of black tungsten tubing at the rig end to pin it all down, purely for my own confidence.
But if the fish are attracted to a bright pop up, surely some bright line isn't gonna bother um 🤷♂️
And I must admit it's easier seeing your lines at night when playing a fish that's gone under your other rods 😎👍

That's just adverting blurb. Lenny Middleton and Andy Little both suggested using coloured line on the basis that it was visible and the fish would swim around it rather than getting spooked from bumping into it.
The claim is ********, it doesn't disappear . Flouro also stands out like any other once waterborne particulates cling to it. Use slack lines or try a method that doesn't have line crossing the water. Experiment!

+1, you also need to not think about orange from the perspective of what humans see.

I wouldn't feel confident in using it + Personally I'd want to spool some new line anyway.

carps eyes are different from humans & see colours & hues that we can't see. thinking that what we see is the same as them is a huge assumption & very wrong. anything we try & do to camo things by matching them to colors in the lakes / rivers is p1ssing in the wind. same as fluro being invisible - to us - not necessarily to them.
best thing to do is to use lots of different colors to disrupt shapes & outlines or sink it to the bottom to get it out of the way.
as for the original post - a friend uses bright yellow mainline so he can see where it's going & he has great results. I am not sure that the color of line matters & will be switching a set of my spools to a bright braid this year for my own fishing
