I tend to use outdoor gear (Montane, Rab, Mountain Equipment and Patagonia) for my fishing rather than buying dedicated fishing clothing but am looking at a few of the Korda and Fortis pieces, frankly because they are cheaper.
Specifically Korda Insulated Joggers or Polar Combats.
Also Fortis Elements Trail pants (tried on and quite liked) or Korda standard combats
I know there are other more military/bushcraft options like Helikon-Tex etc but wanted to explore the above.
Please let me know your experiences, haven't seen any feedback on the Korda Insulated Joggers (nor the matching jacket) but they look like they are quite well insulated at the price (170 gsm) although this won't be a top quality synthetic insulator at this price. Not sure how robust they are but look comfy.

I have just taken delivery of some Polar Combats and initial impressions are very good for the price.
Whilst I can't comment on longevity (or technical performance) but from an initial quality and fit perspective they compare favourably to the more expensive Rab Incline AS trousers and ME Ibex pro that I usually wear for fishing.
Can't comment on the Fortis trousers but I'm also a fan of the Marine jacket - rather it to 2 or 3 layer Goretex for static activity as doesn't seem to get gunked up as much whilst still being sufficiently breathable.

Thanks, I have the standard ME Ibex (mistake, the Pro is the better pant!) and agree with your point on the Marine stuff, really great, soft material prob better suited for fishing than Goretex, although I've found the hoods on the outdoor brands a little more protective, more adjustable and cinch down better, typically use Montane's Phase 3 layer Goretex.

Brought the Korda dry kore jacket on recommendations, and it's terrible use it in heavy rain and it just leaks on the neck / shoulders so have binned it.

No should of but found my old Vass smock buried in my old fishing clothes in the loft so went back to that instead.

Check out ridgeline, nz hunting brand, reasonably priced, their kit lasts, is warm and waterproof. I've had their old monsoon smock for a decade and it's still going strong even if a bit tatty now.

All jackets wet out eventually - wash and tumble dry more regularly / treat with Diver Daves repel annually - job done
Personally think the Drykore gear is one of the best bits of Korda kit out there - and for fishing its def fit for purpose . .
