Been looking at a few vids of these stems.
It states the top eye and bottom swivel are fused into the plastic stem.
If the mainline snaps will this not leave the fish towing the stem and lead around?

I would not buy the avid ones,unless they have changed the design.I preferred the Gemini tackle ones,had an avid one break like most of their ***** gear does

+1 for Gemini if you want to use this type of set up . . .

I too tried avid ones the Gemini ones are the best especially for lead core the others avid,trakker etc the other have holes instead of loops which are intended for mainline or tubing only but the Gemini have the loops

I don't tend to use solid bags but quite a few on my syndicate do and several of them have tried the Avid stems and they have broken for all of them so I would suggest you avoid

Avid stems tend to snap at the swivel in my experience.
They are utter sh*te and should be avoided at all cost

Better to use extra long PVA bag tail rubbers. I use them with short leadcore leaders ( about 10 inch ) with spliced loops at each end. One end looped to the hooklink swivel and the other looped to a loop at the end of the mainline. I trim the narrow end of the tail rubbers in order to allow the leader to easily pass through in the event of any breakage/ lost fish.
