yeah i saw a video done by carpology on youtube.

Some of there stuff looks interesting but the problem is the pricing. People have their established way of fishing using products that they know work. in order for people to give them a punt, they should at least be undercutting the prices of established terminal tackle brands.

For example Okuma, years a go they didnt have a dedicated big pit reel for carp fishing. They brought out the INC-6000 with a 5 year warranty at £45. less than 50% for an equivalent shimano or daiwa reel and performs just as well, if not better than those reels at 100 to 150 pounds.

Point is, if you want get a seat at the table, price out your competition, whether than be with starter sets or whatever.

Imagine if this company decided to do a starter set, 3 sets of 1 lead system, 3 sets of another , and just did that with a variety of products and then charged a fair price which would cover their bills and then hopefully gain customers for the foreseeable future where you can begin to charge "Carp Tax" prices

Okuma were already a multi national, multi million pound business when they launched the INC6000. They have the economies of scale to undercut the market and take their share.

A small new tackle brand would need some heavy financial backing to be able to do the same thing.

As Beyonce said you'd have to go into it with money to literally throw away, not many start ups can afford to do that, and even if they did investors (if any) wouldn't like that plan with their own money.
If it's a good product hopefully the company and products will gain tractrion/market place in the long run.

One of their “sponsored” anglers works for carpology so would possibly expect a flood of videos from them soon lol
And their brand manager worked for Gardner
So Probably have good access to some of the Chinese manufacturers.

I watched the video, I clearly heard the guy from Gardner, say the products were keenly priced and did not have carp tax added. I have enough tackle to open a small shop, so will not be buying anymore terminal tackle for the foreseeable future. Too many people in a niche narket. The only way they can prosper is to grow the market. I think most carpers think the banks are overcrowded enough. Mr Fairbrass is an astute businessman, buying lakes and land. As they say" Gods not making anymore ".
