Ive been trying to make some boilies that i want pure white
Ive tried countless recipes and the raw mixture is superb.
But as soon as ive boiled/poached them they lose the required colour or they just dont cut it quality wise. Has anyone got a go to recipe that they use purely for white boilies ive used cream, flourocein, white chocolate, milk ,milk powder
Everything that goes into the mixture is white but it changes colour, or texture its just not right

Do you mind me asking what's in your base mix.

Start with a pale basemix and add titanium oxide, job done.

Titanium oxide is now banned in food baits. Only to be used in hook baits.

I knew there was a replacement for titanium dioxide, but had to look for it:P

E170 is the one, limestone or calcium carbonate. Funnily enough not allowed in the usa, that's a first, but deemed safe by the EU, but what do they know, right?

Freely available in drugstores, amazon etc and should be a good replacement for e171. I don't think you can get a completely white finished product without coloring, as soon as it is wet you're done.

I use white eggshells for the calcium that is cooked in the oven on very low for 4hrs then ground down to a very fine powder
Rice flour , egg albumen powder, cornflour , brilliant white flourocien, and plain flour

Can I ask why you want pure white?
Is it for visual purposes? If so I don't think the carp will be able to detect the difference between whether it's pure white or off white.
I'd be more concerned about the quality of the mix than it's colour

I m just wanting to test a pure white bait out.
i remember reading that an angler tried pure white baits againt ordinary cream coloured ones on 2 different spots over a couple of days . 1day white on one spot and the next day pure white on the same spot alternating And the difference was quite substantial in favour of the pure white ones.
I dont know what the mix was but they were apparently the same apart from the difference in colour.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm still not convinced, I've only had more coot and other bird life action using brighter colours but if it gives you more confidence then go for it
