Hi all, snapped my Plastic spreader block net this weekend trying to get the net off. Anyone recommend a reasonably price replacement 6ft handle with metal spreader block, nothing special as I don't catch much 😄

I'll second the Tacklebox Metal spreader block and net handle. Reasonably priced and comes with a lifetime quaratee.

It did remove itself(with my help), by shearing off where it met the end of the handle leaving the thread inside the handle end 😄

You can buy thread/screw removers, drill a small hole in the thread, screw the remover in and out it comes. I bought a pack of Amazon for £6 iirc, cheaper than a new net handle, worth a thought

You may find that if the sheared part of thread isnt under tension it may now be loose ie nothing left of spreader block bigger than thread counter locking if that makes sense?, i would first try to tease it round with a center punch or small screw driver you would be amazed how many times this works.
As vossy says a stud extractor may work but you often find just by drilling it as close to middle as you can get, the drill will push it out revealing original thread if this happens great but unless you can get the buttcap off pole it will be there for ever just rattle about a bit.
If it didnt move from drilling i would personally drill with ideally 8.3mm but you would probably be fine with 8.5mm then 3/8 bsf tap but i have drills and taps and pillar drill so dont need to buy anything to do it.
As mentioned below the tacklebox poles and spreader blocks are very good just check diameter of arms i think the weston has bigger holes but dearer. Also the matrix 3k landing net pole is very good albeit dearer than the tacklebox one

It is definitely an easy job if you have the tools
But if it starts costing 20 or 30£ for the tools then it would possibly be cheaper to buy a new handle and block.
