Hi All,

Being honest, there isn't really anything wrong with my reels I've had for the last 3 years or so, not used them much though tbh. They are the Okuma LS 6K reels.

I'm just possibly looking to upgrade, however still want something light like these which are around 530g

Any obvious upgrades without spending Basia money?

The Fox Eos 10000 PRO are very similar to your Okuma's, have freespool function and spec at 526g.
I have a couple and like them a lot (I did hover on the LS 6k and 8k before pulling the trigger on the Fox's).
Don't skimp and go for the basic Eos 10000 (I have one of these too). The PRO is far better and probably only 20-30 quid difference.

The Penn Afinity 7000s get rave reviews on here but they come in at 683g.

Probably have to give a idea of budget per reel..

If it was me upgrading, id be thinking along the lines of Ultegra CI4's or Emblems etc.

Pretty overlooked reel the nash scope range. I have the gtl8000 and really cannot fault them at all, best line lay I've ever seen on a reel. Going by guys that service reels, also really good quality inside. Although maybe a little heavy for you.

Daiwa Whisker 25QD - 450g

Compact 25mm spool and mini pit body; I use them on my 10' set up which with a bait boat means I use them everywhere! Saying that they cast just fine - reckon I could squeeze 100yds on a good day no probs

The new Ultegra

I can't really find anything that fits the bill without spending silly money so will stick with what I've got I think

3x Whiskers = 1x Basia Air - if your not casting to infinity thats good value IMO!
