I have just posted this on the syndicate fb group...
Can members please keep an eye out for a fish that may be trailing line that I lost on Wednesday night on the left side of the double decker.
The rig was identical to this one shown, 4" of supple braid, looped at the lead clip end, multi-rig with a size 6 hook that has a beaked point and offset bend, and it has a bait screw on the braid. The swivel will have easily pulled out of the lead clip as it's semi running. There might still be a long length of line attached to the swivel.
I was playing a very powerful fish (in open water) and it turned away from me and the mainline parted with hardly any force. It's new line but it seems to be a very dodgy batch and I have since tested it and it breaks far too easily!
The line is korda subline tapered mainline, 40lb down to 12lb, but it seems the 12lb was breaking well below what's expected.
I'd be really pleased to know this fish has been safely unhooked and it can swim away with no further issues. Thanks.
I have never been so distraught over losing a fish. Not only was it pulling like some freaky creature but I also left a hook and maybe 15-20yds of line in it.
This line has gone all curly and although the shock leader is strong the mainline part breaks like cotton when knotted or with a straight pull. I tried several knots, as did my mate, all snapped very easily. I will add some pics of the main line (shockleader section) coiling up as soon as you let it go slack. It was spooled correctly!
My mate took a video of me pulling the line for a break but not sure how to post the video to here?

I used the normal 15lb Sub line for 1 session Barbel fishing, then pulled it all off and binned it. Sounds like the tapered is just as good.

In this day and age, mainlines should be improving, but in fact the total opposite is happening.

Can cast a lot further with 15 esp syncro straight through..

I'm no korda basher, but the two worst lines I've ever used were korda. The original subline, very similar to what you have mentioned here. And adrenaline. Adrenaline is single handedly the worst thing I've ever spooled up with.

Is the tapered longchuck reliable?
It's been heavily pushed but recommendations from korda team members is no certainty of it being quality stuff.
And if not tapered long chuck, then what good strong line for long range pva bag chucking.
I used to use 15lb big game, and it's always been good (and cheap) so I may go back to that.
My mate was chucking 15lb Nash bullet and that seemed good too.

Don't know about the tapered version but normal longchuck is lovely stuff I've used the 12lb and the 20lb no issues with it at all.

Not used the subline tapered but I've used subline in 12lb and 15lb since it was first released and its never let me down. Sinks, casts well, never cracked it off.... tried touchdown, it's not up to much. But sublline has been superb.

So I emailed Korda and Total Fishing Tackle with the video of the line breaking like cotton between my hands.
Korda replied to say I should go back to the supplier, so I copied that email to tft.
TFT asked me to return all the spools (three used, all transferred to another bulk spool, and three new).
They paid for return postage and collection, and I have just had a full refund from them.

It seems you can get bad batches of line in any make, recently someone posted about Solar Bulletproof in 15lb breaking like cotton. This worried me as I'd just spooled up with it !
I tried to break it with my hands but couldn't, I've since caught two fish which charged off through Norfolk reeds and it performed without issue or any damage to the line.
With this type of post there's always some who will agree and some who never have any issues. This has to be down to a bad batch or a good one on the other hand.
