Hi , who does the warmest thermals ? Looking at keeping warm on the river chasing barbel so no sleeping bag etc , got snugpak top layer

I have some very warm Swedish ones that I have had for a good few years and they are better than any others I have but they only come out when it's really cold
I will find the name of them for you
I bought the wife a set of ultra warms from Uniqlo and she loves them and she always moans she's cold..
So I may buy a set from them for myself just for work

Don't bother with the Tracker stuff , I got them and the stitching/seems make them very uncomfortable against your skin , even after a few good washes .

The stitched seams on long johns will try and cut your balls off...
Wear them inside out for comfort
And the same is true for your underpants

For the weight of a small power bank have you thought about using a heated jacket/gillet/jumper? I'm coming round to that idea myself for day sessions, even been looking at the Preston innovations heat mat for my chair!
I think my skin layer is under armour but I cant compare it as thats all I've used when using a skin layer.

Best I had was the Sundridge Sleep Skin. Don't know whether they still do them, Daiwa also had their own branded one too. £30 I paid for my last set

Merino wool is what you want and pay attention to the weights, moisture wicking too.
Icebreaker and smart wool are quality brands, expensive, but top quality
I have some OEX stuff, not bad for the price, GoOutdoors for this, see base layers
Alternately there are lots of warm moisture wicking synthetics, see the Rab and Montane stuff etc

I use Icebreaker. It isn't cheap.i have various thickness.

No its not, its Snugpak Skinz
I love Merino wool jumpers and socks but I find it itchy at times as a hat or on torso skin, don't have that problem with the Skinz, I assume because its synthetic.

I bought a dirt cheap base layer set from Mountain Warehouse a few years back now, I very rarely use it but it is an absolute game changer when really cold out!

Thinks the ones I have are German, and must have had them 10 years now - no signs of wear at all, and they work. I go Pike, Chub, Graying & Barbel fishing in all weather's over the winter.
