I've got a very nice set of 55's, but I want some 57's now, which to be fair were a much better size for carp fishing, even though they were sold as beach reels back in the 80's.
And they have the metal spools on them too, which was their only achilles heel, with the original plastic ones.

Been saying they need to bring it out in black and I'd snap it up. But ffs they needed to make it fully black. Nearly perfect

I think they kept those silver parts silver due to the wear and tear making those parts having the coating flaking off.

To be fair imho those reels are not at the races compared to the modern stuff but I am sure if they brought them out next year most peoples pods would be full of them, along with monkey climbers!
But then, what happened to Mitchell, a far superior reel, the line lay was incredible and the mechanics were at the time.

Yeah I get why they've done it. I'd just wish they hadn't. I'd rather pay to renew the part every 5 years

Does look sexy and do like the double buzz bar support. . . .BUT the twist and release mech to extend / contract the banksticks themselves on Solar gear is pants in my experience; plus you'd never fish a pod like that on staging without screwing it down - on this basis the Jag Nano with 2+1s is a better bit of kit!

Having owned the Solar Worldwide Carbon (composite) Pod I can't get too excited by this one. The Carbon was crap, plastic really, too light, too bouncy, sagged in the middle under the weight of the rods and reels and you couldn't use Delk's with any reasonable degree of sensitivity.
If this has any of the same characteristics due to the lightweight alloy build it will be a disappointment.

Agree the older worldwide wasnt the best quality wise but solar really upped there game with there latest universal pod as the build quality was superb, i just found it a bit big and fiddly and went back to my jag 316 rp1 pod.
