Hi lads / lady's has vitalin been discontinued if so what would you use or do you use to replace it thanks 🎣🐟

Yes it's been discontinued. Theres probably something very similar if not the same on the market. A local farm shop could probably point you in the right direction

There was a thread on here a while back on Vitalin alternatives. Use the search function. For my ten pence worth Vitalin was mainly made up of flaked maize. Available from most Farm shops.

As per Kells there is a thread on replacements. The chap from TA Fishing uses Baileys No1, from memory, you'd need to add to it for a Vitamin type mix though.

Bugger. Just seen this. I liquidise it and use it for method mix. Out fishes all the shop bought stuff.

There was a chap (think he was known as Wigan Phil) on a syndi I was on who used vitalin method and corn on the hook, he more than caught his fair share. The owner was always ribbing him as to when he'd feed the fish something decent

I fished a new water about 20 years ago, my favourite method at the time was the method...vitamin mixed with a bit of warm water, handful of micro pellet and 2 pieces of fake corn on a short 3" hooklength pushed into the top of the method.
the locals walking round said they don't like yellow and they don't like pop ups, I went on to catch alot of the fish from there on the above tactics including the lakes best fish. its a great way to fish and cheap too
