I've got an old tempest air I use for overnighters. It's completely fine other than the colours faded and looks horrid (to me) instead of buying a new bivvy was thinking I could chuck a bit of paint and try camo it up. Might come out alright and be worth keeping or might be a waste of paint and time and I'll get a new one anyway

Any ideas what to use

Camo spray paint from Halfords.

It's more the type of paint I'm asking about. Or stain. Something that goes onto fabric. Thanks for the Pointer

Acrylic fabric paint would be the best bet.

Deffo some Camo paint, usually on the 2nd isle in BQ with the long stands and spirit level bubbles

Have you tried resealing it, may darken it off. To be honest if you paint it there's a good chance you could knacker it up

Plastikote do plenty of colours inc carpy ones. This is the gear to used to reproof from the inside of a bivvy. It just works..

Yes, I've never heard of painting fabric before. Wouldn't it be better to use a fabric dye?

Fabsil will darken it up. I suppose you could even mix a few drops of fabric dye into the fabsil before you sponge it on as well.

Be better to buy a new bivvy , fabric dye weakens the threads and paints a non starter

NO NO keep it as it is

pretty soon it will be the height of crafty

someone will release the new washed out bivvy shelters probably Nash they release the black bivvy after all and what dopey **** would want to sweat their nuts off in the summer in one of them

while he's there he could pick up some sky hooks, some elbow grease for the joints and even some long weights.
