What's everyone use for a van ramp? Are the thin ones intended for motorbikes good enough or is it worth getting the wider ones so can walk up behind it and when unloading?

Top of my road there is a second hand builders yard I bought 2 old heavy duty floor boards bit of 2x1 baton on top bottom and middle had an old rattle can of paint in the shed so made it look posh total cost £5
and it works to perfection 2nd time I used it down the river a guy asked where did I buy it lol

What I would also do is to add sharp sand to the paint and then paint the boards should make it less slippery in the wet 👍

Yeah same as Frenzy I use my bike ramp, and my Big boy extreme is bloody heavy.
Having said that, I've used the bike bike ramp with bikes weighing 260 kilo so the barrow doesn't really stress it

I used to use a scaffold board for years and years. Could get a bit slippery when wet/muddy in the winter
A couple years back I got one of these for about £50 (at the time)

This is what I use and about the same money. Had it for over 5 years and reckon it's paid for itself 10 times over. The larger lip that sits on the van floor gives you a good margin for user error. Anything homemade needs real care. You can trash your gear and your van- these are built to protect £1000s worth of motor bike. They come with a strap, but I have never used it as too much faff.
